I've added a couple GP100s to the collection. I've owned the 1995 4" 357 since I bought it new. Last year I saw a 22lr for a relatively cheap BIN price and I jumped on it. This spring I received a sub $1000 windfall and I bought a 6" version. The newer GPs give up nothing to my 1995 in terms of fit and finish. Triggers on the new ones are excellent. Also the newer engraving on the left barrel side are much more discreet. Not a billboard. The new engraving makes me go for new, I'm get tired... New avatar, GP100s, old and new ..read more

Another SP101 .327 convert

I’ve had one for a while now, a 3” model, and I’ve grown to love it. I put in Wolff springs to lighten the trigger, and a dab of white paint part way down the front site to help aim it true, and it’s a joy to shoot. I ordered a bunch of brass and projectiles, so the pain of the ammo cost is eased, and so I’ll get to practice with .327, .32 H&R, and plink with .32 S&W Long. It’s the perfect size revolver for me, and has the proper number of charge holes - six. I haven’t had the desire to... Another SP101 .327 convert ..read more

I recently purchased a S&W Model69 Combat Magnum 44 Magnum Because I wanted a double action 44 Special and this fit the bill. I was going to convert my GP-100 to 44 Special but custom conversions are pricey! Does anyone think that a GP sized 44 Special/magnum would sell? Would anyone ,other than m,e, think this would make a fine field carry gun with a 4 to 4,5 inch barrel ..read more

Rear sight blade centering issue

I was looking at the rear sight on my used GP100, and noticed the blade is offset to the right with the windage screw completely turned in all the way clockwise. This is what the blade looks like. Do you think it is machined incorrectly and I need a replacement? Thanks all ..read more

Changed Some GP Springs Around

I decided to do something that everyone on here recommends....which is modifying a new gun before shooting it, LOL! Well, since changing springs is so easy on the GP platform and is something I can perform with the use of only 1 hand (my left hand was damaged by an accidental discharge last week), so I swapped the stock trigger and hammer springs out for 10lb Wolf springs. I didn't like the reduced power spring combination just judging from trigger feel. DA tigger pull was certainly... Changed Some GP Springs Around ..read more

.22 LCR trouble with the trigger pull

I just got a LCR .22 LR, pistol in to do a trigger job on, and quite frankly I'm stymied as to how to get that trigger pull any lighter for a 75 year old woman to be able to operate it. I've polished the sear and all the parts that mesh inside, however the trigger pull will not even come close to not maxing out the the trigger gauge I've got and it goes up to 10#s. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ..read more

22 LCR trigger question?

I recently purchased a brand new 22 LCR. At the very beginning of the trigger pull there is a click and you can feel the trigger snap back slightly in your finger. It does not affect the completion of the pull, but it is rather annoying. I can also make it to happen by just putting a little pressure on the trigger without actually pulling it. It's a pretty hefty click that happens about 60% of the time. Happened right out of the box, but I thought it clear up after I shot it a few times... 22 LCR trigger question ..read more

LCR trigger changes?

I have/had a .38 LCR with a 740 prefix serial no. I was well satisfied with its accuracy and trigger pull. But the trigger reset was horrible. The return had Three stop positions. Pulling at the first stop produced a nasty sounding click. At the second position the cylinder would be advanced a chamber at a time. Pulling from the fully forward would fire the gun. It has been returned to Ruger. They told me it is "beyond repair" and they're sending me a new gun. Can someone say what changes... LCR trigger changes ..read more
