Either the 40S&W or 9mm versions, but does anyone know how much commonality there is between these models? The frames look identical, the slides have more bling here or there. But the writeup only says about the VE sights being much of a difference. Can you swap an SWxx slide with an SDxx slide in the same caliber? The barrels (and locking lugs) look identical, as is the take-down, etc.
Interested to know. Thanks ..read more

All of my handguns have been 9mm. I'm tempted to buy an HK USP with a larger caliber. After all, I live in a state that prevent me from using magazines that can hold more than 10 rounds anyway.
Which one is better? 45 acp or 40 SW ..read more

I could finally get my hands on some rounds of 5.7 x 28.
1.) Since the ammo came in bulk, without boxes, don't know what exactly it is - it can't be the SS190 since that would be illegal here as well, but I found no other one that looks like it outwardly - maybe you can help me out:
- The headstamp simply reads: FNB 5.7x28 21, which I'd take for "Fabrique Nationale Belgium, 5.7x28, produced 2021" and doesn't give away much
- the bullet is a simple FMJ spitzer w/o any color markings
- the primer is brass, not silverish in color
- obviously, it can only be a normal FMJ ball w/o any steel or ..read more

I love HK VP9 primarily for one feature, its slide fins, which make racking the slide so much easier.
I do not see the same thing on other HK handguns. I wonder if any other handguns have this feature ..read more

Just picked up this Tisas from my dealer today. Seems like a very well made pistol and I am sure it will help me with the void of selling my Beretta 84 several years ago.
Any experience with these?

I'm in the process of ordering a Stealth Arms Platypus, and wonder if anyone could please help me with a question?
A bull barrel will cost an extra $50. Does it offer any advantage over bushing barrels? I sure like the looks of a bull barrel.

I am currently looking at YouTube reviews for both the S&W M&P9 2.0 and Beretta APX in 9mm. I already own a S&W SD9VE, so that would give the M&P9 2.0 the edge as far as familiarity. I am essentially wanting the next step up in quality, so stick with what is more familiar to me, or is the Beretta genuinely worth the extra cash ..read more

Just picked up a factory new 3032 Tomcat (Product Code J320126) which has a very loose-fitting/wiggly barrel when 'tipped-up'. With minor hand movement, barrel will rock back and forth which makes me think there may be in issue. If not, I suppose I would've expected slighter higher fit and finish from Beretta. Lockup is tight when barrel is locked into receiver/pushed down.
Probably would've simply figured they're all like this, however my older .25 Model 21A has absolutely no play whatsoever when the barrel is in the 'tip-up' condition. Solid as a rock and feels significantly more refined ov ..read more

What would be the best holster for a Sig P238, to wear with just gym shorts and a t-shirt, to use while running / jogging?
I often run out in the canyons an hour or two past dark, and am sometimes a mile or two from the nearest person (I'm off at work at 5pm, and it gets dark at around 5:30pm in the winter).
I'm planning to carry a P238 mainly to protect myself from mountain lions.
(If I can keep it from printing, I would also be open to carrying a larger gun chambered in 357SIG, as I know that round would fare much better against a mountain lion. But I'm not sure if I could keep it from pr ..read more
