How bad are early Taurus revolvers? (Model 441)

Hi all, There is a used Taurus model 441 in .44 Special at the pawn shop for an attractive price. It's got me wondering if the older Taurus's are any good. I know Taurus has had QC issues with their guns, but how far back does that go? Looking for experience with the Model 441 in particular, but also with Taurus products from this time period as well (which is the early to late 90s). Thanks in advance ..read more

I picked up one of the PX9 pistols recently. I got it with the case, all the contents except the mag loader. 2 MecGar 18rd mags. It is in very good shape and a very nice gun, especially since I got it for $215, OTD. This is the model that has blacked out front and rear sights. They're usable but I was thinking about changing the front sight. Anyone know what sights work on this? Also, I know the mags are P226 Sig mags. They have flat metal base plates. They should still work in this pistol... Tisas Zigana PX9 gen 1 ..read more

My friend sent me this photo of his S&W model 28 from the late 60s and was asking if that line on the top strap is normal. I have two S&W 66s and after checking them it appears there is a faint line in one of them only ..read more

I wouldn't feel "unarmed" carrying a revolver for personal protection. I am unlikely to find myself in a spot where I ever needed more than five or six rounds. I would't want to carry one into a fixed battle, but then again, I wouldn't want to be involved in a fixed battle, and especially at pistol range.. I never set out to collect revolvers but I have ended up with a small collection of them. Combining the new hobby of leather working and the old hobby of firearms collecting is fun... I have had my laugo for over 6 months and I love it my one gripe is it is certainly finnicky about cleaning but I will take that for how much of a joy it is to shoot. I will say the people over at laugo are very easy to work with and everyon I have let use it loves it ..read more

I know they are not military handguns, but had hoped someone nevertheless would be able to assist me with the production years for both the Smith & Wesson Model 41 with long slide and Parker-Hale silencer in .22 lr caliber, as well as the Smith & Wesson Model 41-1 in .22 Short, which came with its original box. Thank you! [ATTACH... Smith & Wesson Model 41 and 41-1 Production Years ..read more

Many years ago, I picked up this Smith & Wesson Model 22A. It's been a great target pistol to me over the years. When my kids became old enough take to the range, this was their first handgun experience. The only issue we've found is the rear slide can be difficult to grab and rack. Unfortunately, with the 22A being discontinued, there wasn't much available. Folks were drilling and tapping their slides to mount charging handles, screwing turnbuckles onto the slide as an improvised... New Life for Smith & Wesson 22A ..read more
