I went to my LGS to replace the automatic knife I apparently lost last weekend. There was a guy there getting a load of weapons tagged he was going to sell to the store. There was a nice 380 in a box that looked very clean. I asked, You selling this? Yep. How much? Don't know, make an offer. I posed $350? He says, cash? Yes. SOLD. Sweet little 1911 380 made in my birth year of 1962. I shot some FMJ's out of the junk bin & it goes bang! [ATTACH... LLama 380 Deal ..read more

Yesterday was like Christmas. My LGS called to inform me latest S&W m41 had arrived. Stopped at PO on the way and some grips and clips for S&W 52 arrived also. This would be stocks & magazines for those in Rio Linda. Actually bought the 52 mags & grips as package deal. Need more S&W grips like another …….anyway they will also fit m39s /59s so I didn’t do bad. The 41 I bought to cannibalize. Grips going on my 41 toting piece, lower is getting a mint 7 3/8 barrel. The custom barrel for... March Madness- Monroe Cnty style ..read more

Ok I need to be talked off the cliff. I saw a Sig P320 with romeo brochure and talked to a co-worker about it. He said look into the Glock43X MOS. So I did today, but now have another in the running, which is a SA Hellcat w SMSC. I dont like the trigger guards on the sig or glock, when I pull my finger off the slide and into guard just feels weird, the hellcat my finger falls right into the guard and onto the trigger. All are around 7 and change with sight, sig is a little more ..read more

I want a big-bore revolver....which one?

I want either a Ruger in .44, or a BFR in either .44, .454, or .500 Linebaugh. Because reasons. I like big bores and I cannot lie. Zero practical reasons besides enjoyment, and I'm okay with that. I don't reload (and NO, I'm not going to learn how, nor do I have the facilities to do it, so it's a mute point anyways), and I don't shoot often, so I can justify the price of factory ammo. Ideally, I think a BFR in .454 would be the bees knees. I can load it mild to wild with either .45... I want a big-bore revolver....which one ..read more

Wasn’t into gun dealing this weekend but was approached with a deal I couldn’t refuse. Was visiting down in WVa this weekend and ended up buying a NIB S&W K38. Was in big shop and guy came in with K38 and was insulted by the offer they made him. Can’t blame him I would have been too. In their case they had a couple run of the mill K38s priced higher than they offered him. Anyway happen to “ run into “ him in lot and made him a decent offer and he bit. So got another safe queen, I won’t pull... New S&W ..read more

Well, I had a late lunch meeting yesterday and stopped into Bass Pro afterwards to see a Ruger 57 they've had for quite a while in their Gun Library marked down to $299.77. I didn't need one. I have had one for a long time. I figured it was probably suffering unspeakable surface issues on the other side that I couldn't see, so I didn't even ask to handle it. Curiosity got the better of me and I went back today after work and it was still there. I asked the sales guy what the story was... Another Ruger 57 ..read more

Stoeger STR9-MC questions

I just got home from the gun store with a new Stoeger STR9-MC. I was expecting that one of the two magazines would be flush fitting, but both are exactly the same size, despite one being 10 rounds and the other being 13 rounds. Both have the same extended pinky grip. Am I able to remove the extended pinky grip from the 10 rounder to get a flush mount? (it doesn't come with a separate flush mount base plate, so would that be something I need to buy separately or does removing the... Stoeger STR9-MC questions ..read more

Iver Johnson 38 question

I have a 3rd Model Iver Johnson 38 cylinder and an older model barrel. Can the 3rd Model cylinder be slightly modified to fit the older barrel's cylinder pin? I can see the differences between the older and new cylinders. This gun will not be fired, but I'm trying to salvage it as a wall hanger. Thanks ..read more
