The Severn Valley Railway has announced that LMS Jubilee No 45596 ‘Bahamas’ will be joining the line-up at its Autumn Steam Gala, a four-day event set to take place between 19 and 22 September. “This locomotive is set to be a big attraction at our event,” said SVR Managing Director Jonathan ‘Gus’ Dunster, “and we’re very excited that it’s coming. ‘Bahamas’ hasn’t been to the SVR since our Spring Steam Gala in 1994, so we reckon we’re definitely due a return visit! Alstom, in collaboration with Danish railway operator DSB, has received the ‘Red Dot Award’ 2024 for the IC5 Coradia Stream, which was recognised for ‘design excellence’. APM survey finds that 87 per cent of transport and logistics SMEs have ‘concerning’ skills gaps in UK project management

A survey by the Association for Project Management (APM) has found that almost nine in 10 small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) in the UK transport and logistics sector have been identified as having a “concerning” skills shortages in project management. The membership association added that this shortage put the delivery of future projects at risk. South Western Railway (SWR) has been welcoming thousands of racegoers arriving at Ascot station for the prestigious Royal Ascot. Passengers reminded to check before travelling ahead of vital work in Severn Tunnel

Network Rail is urging passengers to check before they travel between South Wales and Bristol in July, when it will be replacing track that runs through the Severn Tunnel. The tunnel will be closed, with trains diverted or replaced by buses, between Wednesday 3 July and Thursday 18 July inclusive. This will enable Network Rail engineers to work around the clock. Buckinghamshire Council has adopted 1,466 new heritage assets onto its county-wide heritage list, including Amersham railway station. The council has developed a Local Heritage List to protect some of the most important sites in the county that contribute to the character and heritage of Buckinghamshire.
