View attachment 5860773 I have been calling many Triumph deals looking for a 2024 Rally Explorer Black. I'm told there is no way for them to know when one is coming and there is no dealer locator. "Just keep calling" I'm trying to get ready for a trip and ready to drop good money. Is this a Triumph thing? This is the stupidest think I have dealt with in a long time ..read more

The configurator offers Expedition and Trekker options. The Expedition is both notably more expensive and smaller. Is there some hidden benefit to the Expedition? Also, the volumes quoted are in gallons. I'm not sure if this is in UK gallons or if it's detecting that I'm in the US and giving me those. Either way, I'd prefer it in liters for comparison with everyone else in the market ..read more

2012 Triumph Tiger 800 ABS Triumph Heated Grips ?

Hey folks. I sold my Scrambler 1200 XC and have acquired a 2012 Tiger 800 ABS. It is not clear which Triumph heated grip part I need for this model. I don't think Triumph makes these any more so stock is dwindling. Yes I know I could install Oxford or another aftermarket heated grip if I wanted, however; I would first like to try and track down the Triumph heated grips. Does anybody know which part number (or numbers, sometimes there are multiple) which fit my bike? My VIN number ends with... 2012 Triumph Tiger 800 ABS Triumph Heated Grips ..read more

Went bike shopping today to upgrade from my vstrom 1000 and crf450l, have the itch for something new. Needs - 2up and solo touring, I'm not an aggressive rider. Will also commute to work. Off road I don't do much of anymore, forest roads at most. I'm 6'3 250lbs, wife is a typical sized 5' nothing, no comment in her weight haha The salesmen recommended a 2020 tiger 1200 desert edition, it's got only 5,000 miles and tons of upgrades. It's priced at $18,500. Ever since we left though I... 2024 tiger 900 gt pro vs 2020 tiger 1200 desert edition ..read more

Tiger Tales - Dialling in the 800XC for the dirt

Thought I would fire up a thread for my new Tiger. The plan is to take the impressive platform that Triumph has put together and add some finishing touches to produce a really good, dirt orientated adventure bike. When I first rode the new Tiger, I came away impressed with the motor but somewhat disheartened by the road orientated feel and gearbox that felt "compressed". As my first ride on a... Tiger Tales - Dialling in the 800XC for the dirt ..read more

New 900 Tiger gearing?

Did Triumph change the gearing with the updated 900 engine? (More power, did they make the final gearing higher?) I liked my 900 Pro but it was a busy and buzzy over 80, and a bit short on upper end power I miss my 1050 motor ..read more

Tiger 800 XC fork oil change

Just changed the fork oil in my '12 800 XC. I had a discrepancy though I wanted to ask about. The service manual says after removing the fork leg and collapsing it down and removing the spring and spacer, the distance from the top of the outer leg to the oil level inside the leg should be 107mm. It also says the volume of oil added should be 619 cc. So, I did just that, but after fully draining the fork legs and adding the 619cc, the oil level was at around 50mm. Also, I pumped the... I have numerous issues with my Tiger 800xc when I bought it in April. Slowly things are getting sorted out. One thing that is left is the front suspension. I have had the dreaded front end bounce which was reduced by installing the hyperpro spring kit front and rear. Sag is now in check. Bounce is still there but it is manageable. Dealer has already replaced the front tire once to try and get rid of it and checked the wheel for trueness, all checked out ok. So I installed the Hyperpros... Looking at an '08 Tiger 1050

hello, I’m looking at purchasing a local 2008 Tiger 1050 with 9100 miles. The seller is asking $3900USD as he has three bikes and recently lost his job as the reason for selling. He is the second owner and has all maintenance records. Does the asking price seem reasonable ? I have never owned a Triumph, is this a reliable platform? What should I look for as potential issues? Thanks ..read more
