It appears that there may be a third attempt rising from the ashes. www.beregional.uk https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/15645806 I can’t see it happening. Director, and majority shareholder, is 73 year olds according to Companies House. Quick google search shows there is a John Chilman who is a senior member on the pensions advisory board.. doesn’t appear to be the same person. Let’s hope not anyways. Yesterday's Business Post reported: Quote: A Middle Eastern investment consortium is advancing ambitious plans to build an international airport in Wicklow, after provisional deals with local farmers and families to buy more than 600 acres of land. Landowners in Wicklow have provisionally agreed to sell more than 600 acres of property to a Middle Eastern investment consortium, which has plans to build a multi billion-euro international airport in the vicinity of Arklow. [Arklow's on the east coast of Ireland, about 60km south of Dublin.] This seems a bit...hopeful ..read more

NIKI LAUDA, I remember seeing Niki Lauda on numerous occasions sitting in the lounge of the Sacher Hotel where he had an apartment, when not living in Ibiza. We would exchange , a guten morgen. He had an office on the Ringstraase in Vienna, a short walk from the Sacher which was also a booking office, and clad with wood that he had brought back from Australia, when he won the long battle to fly the routes VIE/SYD and VIE/MEL. I remember his TV speech after the loss of the Lauda air B767. informing the viewers that if they thought he was responsible they could finish his airline, or they could ..read more

In the last 12 months, there has been something of a tendency on this website to believe that only one person on Twitter/X has the ability to work out when airlines are adding new routes, cutting routes or changing route frequencies and then publish this to the Internet. This kind of activity has been happening for at least the last 10 years, and I'm sure many people who regularly post to this website know how to go about this.. I've found/stumbled across 21 other websites which regularly publish to the Internet and often pick up on route changes. Is anybody able to add to this list for routes ..read more

Why do so many people try to start an airline ?
PPRuNe Forums » Airlines, Airports & Routes

Every year in Europe (and I include the UK) there are people with the idea of starting an airline. Some are dreamers who stop trying within a month once they realise what's involved - these are usually never heard of in the public domain. Others go a lot further, become publicly visible, and may even get to the stage of flying passengers commercially. A very large number of these attempts shut down less than 3 years after the date they flew their first commercial passenger flight. Airlines are not great technical innovators. Yes, there may be small ways you can tweak things - maybe a new carri ..read more
