Ryobi 40V Brushless Mower
The Daily Working Dad

Alright, so this is probably the most “old man, dad” thing I’ve ever done. I researched for like 2 weeks straight about lawn mowers and finally settled on the Ryobi 40V system. To start off with, there are SO many kinds of electric mowers. I decided to roll with Ryobi simply because it’s a brand that I’m familiar with, and if anything goes wrong Home Depot supports them. When I finally settled on the brand, I had to decide which model was best for me. I went with a self propelled brushless motor lawn mower. Honestly, it’s pretty awesome. It has the same power as my old trusty Toro lawn mower ..read more

FRI-NALLY! I thought it would be cool to keep everyone up to date on our unique scenario that many of us are going through right now with online learning. I wanted to keep it as real as it is between the great and the not so great times. Hopefully I am not alone in my feelings. Technically I Lied Okay, so it really wasn’t a first FULL week since we officially started on Wednesday. BUT, I am counting it because it was honestly one of the longest weeks ever. Alright, Alright. I am being a bit dramatic, but it was a bit of a rollercoaster. At the beginning of this week, I worked my butt off kn ..read more

My Son Spent $1500 on Fortnite in 30 Minutes

Yeah. You read the title correctly. My 7 year-old has become a huge fan of the game Fortnite. If you have a kid that’s into gaming, you most likely already know what Fortnite is. Fortnite is a game that’s “free to play.” HOWEVER, they make money off of virtual transactions. You spend your real world money to purchase “V-Bucks”, which is the currency you use in the game to buy new characters, outfits, dance moves, equipment…etc. Our son spent $1500 on V-Bucks. The Receipts I was just going through a regular day when all of a sudden receipts started rolling into the email inbox. One by one they ..read more

Family Blog – Weekend Activities

What did we do this weekend? Well, we started off Friday night with one of our “regular” pizza and a movie nights. Friday was Something called Disney+ Day, which meant they were releasing a bunch of new content at one time. We had a bunch of different options to choose from. I had my eye on the Shang-Chi movie which included the all new “IMAX Aspect Ratio.” However, the kids had other ideas. We settled on the brand new Home Alone move. It was a decent movie. I was actually surprised by it. It definitely had a good mixture of kid and adult jokes to laugh at. There were a good amount of laughs ..read more

Why under $300 is the “Sweet Spot” In my best devices for online learning blog, I already laid out some basic specifications on what you’ll want to look for in a student Chromebook. You can check that post out right here. After writing down those specifications, I went ahead and did more research to create a list of my top 5 Chromebooks under $300. You’ll find that the Chromebooks that hit the minimum spec requirements we’re looking for fall between 200-300 dollars. If you’re spending anything less than $200, you’re most likely going to end up having a lot of issues with freezing or running s ..read more

Razer Kaira Pro Review

by Matt (The Daily Working Dad)

The Razer Kaira Pro is a headset that was made specifically for the Xbox Series X/S as well as PC. They’re what I consider a “mid-tier” gaming headset, and they offer great sound performance as well as comfort. Let me breakdown my way of thinking when it comes to categorizing gaming headsets into “tiers.” Lower-Tier: Priced under $100 (Including Tax) Mid-Tier: Priced $100-$220 (Including Tax) High-Tier: Priced over $225 Key Features Wireless: the headset is completely wireless. Not even a usb “dongle” is needed for consoles. (Can be used on PC with a USB dongle.) Bluetooth Enabled: You can pa ..read more

June-11-2021 to June-13-2021 We’re going to try doing this a little more often for those of you who want to keep up with us. Be sure to follow us on our social media, so you know when this gets posted. Watched: “In The Heights“ We started off our weekend by watching this awesome movie. I’m not much of a “musical movie” person, but this one I could get behind. It wasn’t filled with corny music that didn’t make sense to me. Instead, it was filled with just the right amount of Latin/Hip-Hop vibes. The story was great and the entire production just felt authentic. Carmelo loved it. He watched it ..read more

“Alright, first day of school!” “Say Cheese!” – Every parent snapping photos as they hold back their tears because their babies are starting a new school year. Here we go! Baseball is BACK!
The Daily Working Dad
by Matt (The Daily Working Dad)

America’s Favorite Pastime I’m just going to come out of the gate and state that baseball has to be one of the best sports ever created. There’s something about the crack of the bat, and the pop of the glove. Can’t forget about the smell of hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, and beer in the stands. It honestly doesn’t get any better. Who hasn’t pretended to be Benny “The Jet” running away from the beast? I know for a fact you’ve said “You’re killing me smalls!!” at least once in your life. You love baseball, even though you might not know it yet. Baseball is such a cerebral game too. There are so man ..read more
