Got an issue just driving me freakin nuts. When the truck is running, I can turn the squelch all the way down…gain all the way up, and I get a “swish swish swish” noise. Every 1/2 second. Only when truck is running. Moves the needle on meter.
General Lee 5 yrs old from Bobs CB. Does it on my back up Cobra night watch also from Bob in 2001. 5’ Wilson tuned tip. 1.3 on ch 1, 1.6 on 40. Wilson gumdrop mount on a heavy duty mount on the metal mirror arm of my 03 FLD. 9’ of fresh Wilson...

2013 Peterbilt has the dual antenna set up.
I just want to go with one antenna and somebody has already been in there before me and cut coax.
I assume that when I remove the drivers side antenna it will have the coax screwed into it.

Hi. Just cleaning out my shed and found that I have four CBs I'm not currently using. I'm having a garage sale this weekend so I wanted to keep the best one or two and get rid of the others. These are the four:
Radio Shack TRC-483
General Electric 3-5804A
Uniden Pro 510 XL
Lafayette LM-300
If you have any idea which two of these you would keep if you had to and which ones to sell, please let me know. Thanks ..read more

Help me to understand. I was just assigned a 2025 mack anthem, identical to the 2019 I got out of, got tired of running my own coax and antenna, figured I’d use the stock stuff which I know isn’t impressive. Either way, went to the truck this morning and routed 18 feet of coax out to my browning antenna like I always have, but I left the stock mack antenna in the mirror, I’ve heard it’s theorized that one of them is AM/FM receiver, while the other is the CB antenna, I kept the drivers side...

Does anyone have a solution to the static noise generated by my darned LED headlights? I have tried resistors which helps with function of the lights but the noise persists. I need to be able to hear because of my line of work avoiding collisions with other trucks on narrow rock roads with limited turn outs. The radio transmits just fine but reception is terrible due to static noise ..read more

Please let me know if you need more information.
I bough a CB radio Cobra 29 LTD classic.
First set up was a single antenna, with mirror mount (on passenger side), the electrical source was provided by the factory one installed in 2024 Freightliner Cascadia. SWR readings was directly from the CB radio.
However, with barely being able to hear anyone unless “SUPPER” close I have since changed things up.
I bought an external SWR reader.
Chanel 1 = 1.4...
