While browsing through recent license updates, I ran across some NYSP frequencies in the 220 MHz range in the Finger Lakes region. The license is WPPE729 and the frequencies are allocated as QM - Non-Nationwide Public Safety/Mutual Aid, 220 MHz. There are other NYSP 220 MHz licenses around the state. Has anyone actually heard anything on these frequencies? I live in Florida and visit upstate New York just a few times a year and would like to know if they’re worth programming and if there’s...

I am hoping to get a scanner for casual listening to public service agencies, such as police, fire, etc. I live in the Syracuse, NY area. I was looking at a BCD996P2 and a BCD536HP, and not sure what is needed for this. Furthermore, I think I require digital, and the price difference on those two is significant. Any recommendations on what will serve my needs? Are there other scanner options? Thanks for any tips ..read more

I still continue to hear 8 and 9 divisions on UHF but nothing from any of the listed division 7 besides that ems freq. I am almost 40 miles away in CT but am getting this clear and with MDC numbers. Anyways just wondering if this...

Riveting stuff here...
Mobiletech Site 31 (Attica) is reporting a new neighbor of R13-135 CC 42842 153.5525. A good old-fashioned FCC license search shows three active licenses to Mobiletech, all within the area. Site 31 should probably be a neighbor, too....so.... if anyone wants to go hunting and can receive Site 31 and is close to it or east of it, have at it.

If it is anything to anyone, I can "see" the activity on the spectrum, but it is too weak to decode...
