We are pleased to announce the 2024 cohort of scholars for the Institute for Research Design in Librarianship (IRDL) Online. This year, the William H. Hannon Library will virtually welcome 29 scholars from 18 states and Canada on May 27–June 7 for two weeks of lectures, private consultations with research experts, and hands-on activities. New Gabrielino-Tongva Bibliography

As part of our commitment to highlighting Indigenous voices and perspectives in our collections, the William H. Hannon Library has published a new open educational resource: a digital bibliography of published and archival resources on the Gabrielino-Tongva tribe. This openly licensed, annotated bibliography builds upon an earlier printed version and covers the years 1723-2023. Researcher can access the new bibliography through LMU Pressbooks, a platform for creating and publishing open educational resources. Wiley Transformative Agreement Extended

Through a transformative agreement negotiated by our e-resources consortium, the Statewide California Electronic Library Consortium (SCELC), Loyola Marymount University faculty and staff may publish original research and review articles open access in any of Wiley’s 1400+ hybrid journals (subscription-based journals which offer an open access option) at no charge to the author. This new agreement extends the pre-existing SCELC Wiley Transformative Agreement through 2026. Vida: 20 Years of LMU Chicana/o/x Student History

The William H. Hannon Library has digitized 43 issues of Vida, a student-run newspaper that amplified the voices and concerns of the Chicana/o/x and other marginalized communities at Loyola Marymount University from the early 1970s until the late 1990s. Users can access these issues online through LMU Digital Collections, which features unique materials digitized from the library’s archives and special collections.
