In April the staggering news emerged of a recording of The Beatles unique concert at Stowe School in April 1963. Stowe is a ’public’ (ie private feepaying!) School in Buckinghamshire, just North of London. Pupil David Moores wrote to Brian Epstein in January 1963  to request that The Beatles play at school easter concert. On 15th November a special event was held in Studio One at Abbey Road Studios to celebrate the release of Now and Then and the ‘Red and Blue’ albums. Just 24 hours before, I received a Facebook message from Apple asking me if I would like to come along and bring some friends. The answer was ‘yes’! I assumed it was going to be a ‘listening party’ for the new albums – which would have been good enough – but we were treated to so much more! The book, with an estimated sale price of £4,500, also includes a piece of a broken plectrum used by Paul McCartney. The Beatles drummer Sir Ringo Starr has been reunited with his Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club band uniform over half a century on. It’s been over 56 years since The Beatles released arguably their greatest album in Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.
