New package seeks to make the Mercedes-Maybach even more exclusive
Available on Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV, GLS and S-Class
Bespoke interior and exterior details include dark chrome and rose gold details
Part of Mercedes' strategy to offer Maybach as a genuine alternative to Rolls-Royce and Bentley
Mercedes' desire to move its Maybach sub-brand ever more upmarket continues with the launch of the Night Series package. Designed to appeal to a subtly different (but still ultra-rich) audience, it swaps the more familiar mirrored surfaces for dark chrome and rose gold detailing. There are changes i ..read more

We pit two of BMW's hottest M cars against each other in a very close U-Drags battle.
This matchup shows that big power isn’t the only thing you need to excel at U-Drags.
The latest M3 Competition punches above its considerable price.
Our latest episode of Edmunds U-Drags is all about BMW M power. The M8 Competition is a drop-dead gorgeous mega GT car with a monstrous twin-turbocharged V8 under the hood. You might think that it could run circles around its less powerful, less prestigious sibling, the BMW M3 Competition, but you’d be wrong. This German family smackdown ended up being one of o ..read more

It's the first all-new vehicle from Alfa Romeo in over five years
Standard all-wheel drive and 285 total horsepower
Big paddle shifters and gorgeous wheels give it some key Alfa styling elements
On sale May 2023
Alfa Romeo has been producing cars for over a century. This is a fact that I didn't need to look up because I heard it approximately half a dozen times from different folks as the company handed us the keys to its latest product: the 2024 Tonale, a small plug-in hybrid SUV.
The Tonale, named after a mountain pass in Italy (much like its larger sibling, the Stelvio), is a crucial vehi ..read more

We hit 10,000 miles on our long-term 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E.
We still like the mega touchscreen display.
The rear cargo area maximizes its small-ish footprint.
We're iffy on Ford BlueCruise.
Our long-term 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E just hit 10,000 miles. As one of our favorite new electric vehicles when it launched (after all, we did name it the Edmunds Top Rated Luxury EV in 2021), we couldn’t wait to see how this SUV would hold up after thousands of miles.
So we bought one and added it to our long-term test fleet. Having driven our stylish Mach-E Premium RWD for just over a year, our team ..read more

The Corvette Z06 and our long-term test Lucid Air Grand Touring battle it out on the Edmunds U-Drags track.
This showdown features nearly 1,500 horsepower.
One of these monsters breaks into the 10s in the quarter mile.
Unexpected matchups like this only ever tend to take place here in the weird wonderland of Edmunds U-Drags. In this race, our long-term 2022 Lucid Air Grand Touring EV takes on the most noteworthy American supercar in years, the 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06. The Lucid may have a distinct power advantage, but that's hardly the whole story.
Let’s get this out of the way: The Air has ..read more

New vehicle markups are less common than they were a year ago.
However, high demand and constrained supply continue to affect prices.
Here are the automakers with vehicles that still command above-MSRP figures.
This time last year, Edmunds brought you the automakers with the highest markups — a list headed by Cadillac, whose buyers, on average, paid $4,000 over sticker to take possession of a new vehicle. Strained supply and increasing demand had led to markups being common throughout the industry, with Caddy, Land Rover and Kia shoppers feeling the heat more than anyone else.
But the landsc ..read more

New Silverado 2500 ZR2 and ZR2 Bison models add big off-road chops to heavy-duty Chevys.
The new trucks get 35-inch tires, spool valve shocks, and some new looks.
The target isn't the TRX or the Raptor R, but something else entirely.
High-power desert-running trucks like the Ford Raptor R and Ram TRX grab all the headlines (and they sell pretty well to boot). But Chevy decided it's going to buck that trend, and there will be no three-way truck horsepower war. Instead, Chevrolet has gone a completely different route with its new-for-2024 Silverado 2500HD ZR2 and ZR2 Bison models. The basic id ..read more

We usually put 20,000 miles on our long-term test vehicles, but we could only manage 13,522 miles in our year with the Civic Si.
Are we just not that into the new Si? More on this possibility below.
Wait a minute, it's already time to say goodbye to our long-term 2022 Honda Civic Si? We just posted the 10,000-mile update in February! Well, first of all, a mea culpa: Your humble narrator swung a little late on that one. We technically crossed the 10K-mile threshold back in early November, according to the fuel log. But since we strive to put 20,000 miles on each long-term car over the course ..read more

Six drive modes keep the three-row Defender 130 moving, no matter what.
It has better off-road geometry than competitors.
The P400 powertrain is a delight.
When Land Rover released the latest Defender back in 2020, I was ecstatic. Debuting as a two-door, stubby SUV with excellent off-roading chops, the Defender 90 was made for kicking trail butt and looking sweet while doing it. The next iteration, the Defender 110, added two more doors but remained a competent off-road vehicle with plenty of payload capabilities and excellent off-road geometry.
Enter the Defender 130. On first glance I thou ..read more
