Earlier in this thread, I referenced a Hyundai Web Page: https://www.hyundaimotorgroup.com/story ... 0000002069 (it's very slow to load, for some reason - no doubt it's in South Korea). One of the snippets I'd missed is: For reference, Hyundai Motor Group's latest hybrid vehicles charge themselves by checking the SOC of the low-voltage battery every 30 minutes even when the engine is turned off. This is the principle that the low voltage DC-DC converter (LDC) applied to the hybrid vehicle converts the electricity of the high voltage battery into 12V to charge the low voltage battery. There's things I do like, but not enough to make me change. So, I'll stick with mine for now. Thanks for the appraisal, ‘alan sh’. I’m sure there will be some improvements that I might appreciate but as I’m only 13 months into ownership, I can’t make a case for trading-in my Ultimate Hybrid for the ’new and improved’ 2025 model. I’m fairly happy with the one I’ve got anyway. When I say ‘fairly happy’, that assessment comes after a major disappointment yesterday. I attempted to load one of those large...ish garden troughs, already assembled, into the back of my car with the rear seats down ..read more

Besides the basics like tyre pressure, fluids, and lights, don’t forget to check your battery, brakes, and essential documents like your passport and insurance. I once had a minor hiccup because I didn’t check everything thoroughly and ended up needing a last-minute stay Statistics: Posted by P1car00n007 — Fri Jul 26, 2024 2:15 pm ..read more

I had a sit in an Ultimate today - didn't even bother with the test drive I'd booked. The split screen (map and something else) has been reversed so the something else is now on the left. Which is a pain as it means I have to move my whole body to scroll up and down. And it won't display the media in the split screen - which I like. Zooming in and out of the map display is now an extra button press to get the + and - to appear. The headlight adjuster is now somewhere in the settings and not a scroll wheel near the boot opener - so you can't just 'do it'. There's things I do like, but not en ..read more

Do you know where in the handbook it mentions the battery reset button as I can't find it? This is lifted from the PDF of the American model's handbook :- BatteryReset.jpg It's on Page 8-5 in that manual. The chapter is entitled "Emergency Situations" (there's a clue it's not supposed to be a routine thing!) In the UK manual, it's probably indexed under "B" for button, or "P" for procedure (or something else that's equally perverse ) Update: Silly me, it's indexed under "I" for "if the 12 Volt Battery is Discharged" Statistics: Posted by PhilHornby — Thu Jul 25, 2024 3:58 pm ..read more

Hi Pharaoh, I'll try and remember but I'm getting on a bit and this is all quite worrying. We were in town and opened the car no problem. Drove home about 6 miles and parked. I got out and I think only the drivers door was then open. Tried the boot to get something out but is was locked. Then thought, ah, its happened again, dead car! I think I then pressed the key fob to try to open the boot but nothing happened, so I closed the driver's door and pressed the fob to try to lock the car but nothing happened, all dead. So I got in and pressed the battery reset button and all was ok again. The ..read more

Hi Pharaoh and Indalo1, I just spoke to the dealer who said having to press the battery reset button is 'a thing' on the Tucson hybrid. This seems to confirm what some on the forum are saying. This guy was sales and not a technician, but didn't really know why it happens, other than thinks it's to prevent the battery having a total discharge. He said the rear doors remaining locked when you exit the car was normal, and that you have to press unlock on the fob to open them. He didn't know why the alarm was going off when I get petrol! He said to book it in under warranty to see though, in cas ..read more
