After what seems like forever without precious Maci,a new boy, Ursu, has joined us.He has a few additional needs but nothing to quell his enthusiasm for life.He came from Maci's old rescue and I have a feeling that the little fella pushed him in our direction.Anyway, he's absolutely beautiful and we are hoping for many years together with lots of adventures along the way. So I'd like to introduce young Ursu ..read more

I had the boy chemically castrated yesterday, I have been very conflicted but thought this was the best option as a sort of try before you by option of castration, I have been warned that he will have a surge of hormones in 4 weeks time and then it should all settle, so fingers crossed it goes smoothly. I think knew what I was planning look at the stink eye ..read more

Rest in peace, Flossie

So hard to write this. The 'seizure' star-gazing type thing Flossie had a few days ago turns out to have been a serious internal bleed. possibly a spleen tumour. Vet couldn't do an X-ray as her breathing was rapid and shallow, and she didn't want to risk a GA with the slow heartbeat. Despite spending hours at the vet since Tuesday, loads of medication to try to improve things, she became gradually weaker until this morning it was all she could do to lift her head, and wag her tail a bit... Hello all, not sure where to put this post but hope here is okay? Me and my partner have been thinking for some months now about getting a second dog. We have been speaking about it and weighing up the pros and cons. We have decided on a Female Shih Tzu puppy. At the moment we have a Male Yorkie that has been neutered he turns 2 in October. We are looking to get a puppy round the same time. Now, he is friendly with other dogs. His sister (from same litter) comes to visit us weekly. He... There is a video going around of a Rottie harassing some deer, I don't know the context at all. The video just shows a Rottweiler half-heartedly charging two deer, the deer square up to him and he backs off then half-hearted charge again. Looks like a juvenile dog who wasn't sure what to do with prey that didn't run away. The people filming were in a car and were telling the owner (appears to be owner) to leash the dog, that this is very dangerous, and the dog could get his skull smashed... Welcome to Dog Chats Themed Photo Competition It doesn't matter what type of camera you have, or how good you are at photography, just let your imaginations sparkle and show off your dogs unique personalities. Let's have some fun, but please remember, to make this run as smoothly as possible I have a few little rules, please don't make me have to be the stern competition runner and come after you with reminders. The Rules are: 1. The photo must be of your own dog. 2. No photos from... Dog Chats Themed Photo Competition number 62 ..read more

My Vet surgery is a small subsidiary surgery, the main one is 45 min drive away which is difficult for me to get to. They are closing my small one down, it is the only one that I am able to get to on my mobility scooter if I can not get a lift from a family member. I can not afford to get a taxi to the main branch, and most of my local taxi's don't take dogs anyway . I really don't want to change vets, I know all the vets at this practise and trust them, they kept my boy Chip going for 10... Don't know what I am going to do ..read more

Good afternoon I bought a puppy on the 30th April from a man address in west byfleet. He’s a registered breeder and also kc registered. The listing was i found on pets for homes. It is still live and they have since upped the price saying there are more puppies available. We were told the puppies were a litter of 9 and she was the last one. We were told she was kc registered, vaccinated, flea and worm treated and we would receive 5 weeks insurance under the kc. They even asked the name... Scam ..read more

Briea is 4 years old today! She's really matured in the 18 months we've had her, grown in confidence and calmed down. She's an absolute delight most of the time with a mischievous strek, she reminds me so much of Tango! Today will be quiet, she will have some extra treats and belly rubs to celebrate. (sorry, I don't know why we have duplicate pictures ..read more
