Was out fishing the pond today and not really been having luck with my usual baits, shrimp, smoked sausage, cut bluegill. So a man and his son come out with the Magic Bait Chicken Liver and Blood, and within 10 minutes or less he had a 30+ inch channel on, but unfortuantely was using a kids spincast combo and tried to lift over the dock ledge and the line broke. I found this video to be what I thought was a good video for those learning to cast a baitcasting reel. It is leaning toward bass fishing some but the concept is still spot on. Going to retire this Dec it looks like. 65. Not much money. Will be renting a apartment. 3 knee replaces on 2 legs. About all I can do is bank fishing. So any recommendations on fishing from piers fir catfish or other fish. I like pier fishing because I can pull a little wagon on long concrete piers with all my stuff on it. Have some ideas up in Wisconsin and Michigan to retire at and fish for salmon off piers and anything that swims by. But not sure if my knee replacements can take that... I recently mentioned planning a catfishing trip down the Tennessee River in a kayak. I currently own a Perception Outlaw 11.5, which is very stable. I throw a cast net from it standing and I even cast my rods out standing if I need to get a little distance.
