I want to keep this as generic as possible, so please forgive me. Anyone that has done a cruise will know the frustration or know how to avoid it.
There is paperwork hell and between the 5 pages for command and the 5512 - there is just lots of confusion.
for me - we have made it past the pages for command, but this 5512 is turning into a CF. so i am wanting to ask:
Do we need to get 5512 from sailor or can we DL from SECNAV and complete, sending to sailor?
What is the need for work hours - seems really silly for them to ask me my work hours. (i think i know answer to that but throwing ..read more

The Brandon Act was passed to assist military men/women who are experiencing mental health issues.

50% of the nukes on my son’s carrier are reported to be suicidal. Leadership scoffs and laughs at them. What recourse do our sailors have; who can they report this treatment to ..read more

Hello, my name is Erich and two of my navy buddies and myself (also navy) decided that for when we get out we wanted to do something to help the Veteran Community out. After brainstorming we decided to open KEA Golf, a golf apparel brand focused on quality service, quality product, and community. Our goal is to promote the organizations making a difference in Veterans lives and also using some of the proceeds to donate to these organizations. Our first charity is PGA HOPE. If you haven’t heard of them and what they do visit our website at www.keagolf.store and you can learn more. I will keep y ..read more

My son's navy contract ends in 9 months. He will, most likely, be deployed at that time. What happens? Will the Navy fly him home or will he remain on board until his vessel returns to port? Also, will he still have to report to his station or does his work end when his contract expires?
Personally, I believe he has to perform his duties until the vessel returns to port. Does someone know the answers here ..read more

I know from this forum that some of us are going to get to spend time with our Sailors over this 2022 Holiday season. But, I am sure there are many who are not going to be able to spend time with them.
As for me and my family, we would like to assure you that we will be praying and thanking God for the parents, the young sailors that are at home or out there keeping our great country safe and secure.
Without the commitment that your kids made, my kids made, there would not be the Untied States of America. As 2022 comes to an end, I just wanted to say thanks for all the parents out ..read more

I'm curious. My boy is in the 6 January 2023 RTC graduating class. This is a three guest limit class. He is attending school in Great Lakes as well. I understand when attending school there, check-in occurs on the same day as graduation.
My question is will there be time between graduation and school check-in to visit with additional family/friends ..read more
