A couple of ALTEC promo trucks

Something to entertain those who can enjoy models in various scales. Both of these trucks are done in FirstGear's typical 1/34 scale but there are no FirstGear markings, so I don't know who actually manufactured them. The smaller Ford 'cherry picker' is a current promo and the Peterbilt crane truck was done a few years ago. They both were (are?) available from ALTEC dealers in the US and both have lots of articulating parts and details.   ..read more

I posted some photos of this model on the thread titled "What diecast did you get today?" but I would like to make its own thread as I have seen some interest in this model.  This is the new Maisto 1/24 Mustang Cobra.  I'll post some more photos later with some mods.  Engine detail is poor.   The original tires don't look good so I changed  the tires with the ones from the 1988 model kit as shown on the kit box (last photo).  I'll be flocking the floor too.  The first photo show the original tires.   If you posted photos on that thread also (li ..read more

The Giulia may be the iconic Alfa Romeo, built from 1962 up to 1977 in the company's best of times  - its derivatives are all classics themselves (4 cyl. engines with 1300 and 1600 ccm delivered between 87 and 112 hp, in its final years a small number got  a 1800 cc Perkins diesel engine - but only for Italy - which brought 50 hp but was no success). From the mid-70's Alfa Romeo was on a steady decline which resulted in the FIAT takeover in 1986. Alfa Romeo revived the old name: 2015 a new Giulia was presented, again with RWD, but with engines from 136 up to 210 hp (2200 cc, Diesel ..read more

I've crafted a desktop wind tunnel, blending the thrill of aerospace with our diecast passion. This setup visualizes aerodynamic flows around our beloved miniatures, offering a new perspective on their design and functionality. Keen to see it in action? I'll be posting pictures and videos showcasing different diecast models under the wind's influence. If you're intrigued and might want to try this out or have any insights, let's spark some engaging discussions here. Excited to hear your thoughts and see where this innovation could lead us! bens-g.mp4     20230319-001.mp4   For ..read more
