I still consider myself a bit of a newbie; too long of a story to tell. I have been riding since I was in my 20's. 1st bike a was a Kawasaki Ninja. Sold it to a guy that fell in love with it. Rode an '86 Shadow VT750 for a while I lived in Massachusetts. (Don't tell my ex-husband, LOL) Didn't have a ride for about 12 years or so. Bought a Honda CM400, it started leaking oil and hubby said, "it's gotta go!" Sold it to motorcycle mechanic to convert a café bike and bought my current bike: an... Newbie to the forum ..read more

OKAY so. I'm obviously building this to be a toy. I baught some dual carbs off Amazon and damn I can feel the power gain up untill 1/2 to 3/4 the gears it doesn't die out. but it bogs down an wont accelerate untill I let off an slowing increase in acceleration. iv messed with the air/fuel screws. cant really fix it. so I'm guessing in need to work on the jet sizing. does anyone have experience with the jet sizes on a dual carb? and im pretty sure I'm... 2003 cmx250 dual carb issues ..read more

Cmx250c Dual Carb main jet upgrade

I've done the slide upgrade on the carbys (non accelerator pump) and replaced the airborne with a small knife wire air filter. I removed the mufflers and replaced them with small pit bike mufflers. The bike now seems to be underpowered and I have been told that I have to go to a set of larger than stock main jets. What would be recommended (size and part number) and wherewould I find them (located in Australia). Also my manual is very VAGUE on the setting of the air screws, simply stating... So, I changed my clutch for a new one. Changed the pressure plate, springs, fibers, plates. Test drove the bike, everything was fine, clutch worked great, but it was leaking some oil from the old gasket. So, I opened her back up, and installed a new gasket (I used rtv sillicone) let it set for 24 hrs as instructed, poured in new 10w40 wet clutch oil, adjusted the cable, and…. now the clutch wont disengage. It stays at 1st gear and wont stall. Just keeps running even when releasing the lever... Mysterious. New clutch was working fine, installed new gasket, now it wont disengage ..read more

I have 1986 Honda Rebel CMX450. Just repaired a leaky accelerator pump after sitting for almost 2 years. Got it all put back together and cranked it to see if it was going to leak. I noticed a nipple coming from the left cylinder head. When I put my finger over the end there was suction, of course the engine also bogged as if it was a kill switch. I thought with all I have read, in previous threads, that if the petcock was replaced that it could be capped off. My question, how can I cap this... Left cylinder head vacuum nipple ..read more

Brought it back to Honda for 50$ they took off front wheel. Teeth are missing on a piece there but not the problem. I will get my documents and have a look after coffee & report back...
