Hey all, new to the forum. Purchased an 03 1800c about 6 months ago and have been slowly going through it over the (Florida) winter, with a lot of help from old posts on this site and the tech pages at Bareass. Thank you so much! Finally got around to replacing my clutch, and I performed everything according to the write up. I used MTC friction plates, new stock steels, and new stock bolts. Soaked in mobil 1 4T and installed, torqued the bolts to 9 ft lbs. Some of them might have... 03 1800c clutch issues after replacement ..read more

Happy to have found this group and look forward to participating. Just picked up a 2005 VTX1800 F1 about a week ago. Shes my first bike and I’m beyond excited. My riding experience started when I was about 12 years old, riding dirt bikes like most my age back then. I never got a motorcycle but when I would visit my father in Florida, I would ride with him (no license but I did it anyway). He and my step mom rode so there was always an extra bike to get on. I lost my father not too long ago... New Member Here ..read more

Hey everyone. I'm not on here often but thought I'd take time to Introduce myself. I live in a small Indiana town. Southern part. I own a 2007 VTX 1300. I've never had any issues with my bike but I'm having some concerns with the milage I'm getting. I've had this bike for about 4 years and it only had a little over 15000 on it when I bought it. It just never has gotten the milage most riders claim I should be getting. Have a safe summer ..read more

New tires?

Just bought a 2009 vtx1300t with only 1,400 miles. That's not a typo. Only one thousand and four hundred miles! Of course the tires appear great. My question is whether I should trust them as they are the original ones. I see no evidence of dry rot. The dealer from whom I purchased the bike passed it for Vermont safety inspection, required annually. I have to assume they wouldn't have passed it if the tires were unsafe. Should I replace them just because of the age, or not worry about it ..read more

I've got a pair of Caltric igniter coils in the mail.. hoping that fixes my bad spark issue.. the picture shows that they come with new sparkplug wires... (there is no description) but in the photo they have no boots or grommets. They don't have that 90* elbow, Or the connector... well I'm not buying into the idea of 10" of HONDA Wire being with $50.00!?!? .. I may replace the caltric ones depending on quality.. Maybe this kit has a few common style connectors and boots.. but are not... Anyone built your own spark Wires? For an 1800 ..read more

Headlight Bucket

Has anyone replaced what I've heard called the "football" shaped headlight bucket for something else? I am not really looking for an aftermarket look, but an OEM headlight bucket that will fit on the VTX. I've read that the headlight bucket from the Valkyrie might work and it looks a bit more subdued, but I've never heard from someone who has actually done this. If you have made a change care to share pics ..read more
