Sound and internet drivers question
Tom's Hardware » Windows 10

Hi everyone, I noticed a drop in microphone volume when swapping from my old PC to a new one and I've made sure that everything is maxed (both Discord and Windows settings) and internet told me to update my drivers through my mobo manufacturer, but I wanted to get an opinion from here before I've done that. And then my internet speed is also not quite right (about a 1/3 of what it is supposed to be). Could that also be a problem with drivers? The mobo is ASRock B650M Pro RS Wi-Fi (i'm using ethernet). Thanks for all the replies ..read more

So I recently upgraded from a gtx 1660s to an rtx 3060. No issues at all at first, everything seemed to go as smoothly as possible. I go to start a game to test the new card after installing the newest drivers, and notice there is no sound. "Okay, obviously I need to change my default output device. Gpus love setting themselves as the default." No. Not only was this not the issue, no devices show at all aside from hdmi in sound settings. No mics, no other speakers. Even the built in output on my motherboard is gone. What's interesting is that in the playback tab it lists the proper number o ..read more

Has the KB5034441 Update Error Been Resolved Yet?

I keep getting one Windows update that fails repeatedly (KB5034441), and in researching, it looks like this has been an issue for several months with no fix. In reading, it looks like the only way to correct it is to use a repartition tool to free some some more space in the reserved section. Anyone have any news on this or has MS tried to even address it? Is it worth going through the repartition process just for this (which makes me a bit weary). I could always hide it, but wanted to see how other's have handled it ..read more

BSODs DeviceRaidPort1 129

Hello guys, recently I'm having BSODs frequently and I don't know for sure the solution to this problem because Windows isn't generating a dump files which makes this more harder, this was only happening when I had 4 windows tabs in Bluestacks but now it's happening with any game or on idle, I checked the Windows events and found this event "Reset for device, \Device\RaidPort1, issued 129" I read some reports on Google that it could be a problem on my m.2 NETAC. When BSOD happens I have to turn off my PSU and turn it on again for the m.2 to work normally again Config: AMD Ryzen 7 5700x3D TUF ..read more

Kernel Power BSOD, but only when watching Youtube videos ?

I recently had a problem where I had a Kernel Power BSOD, but it only happens when I'm watching Youtube videos. After the BSOD I rebooted the computer, did a memory diagnostics test with no errors. Then I played an hour of Hitman 3 on ultra settings with no issues; so I don't think it's a PSU issue. I've gotten similar crashes before. Only happens when watching youtube videos. I can be playing a game on max settings for hours; zero crashes. PC specs.... CPU: Ryzen 5600 GPU: RTX 3060 RAM: 16GB OS: Windows 10 ..read more

Ntoskrnl.exe BSOD, memtest and chkdsk good ?

I've been getting a lot of issues recently with browser tabs crashing and BSOD. I used bluescreenview to see all the BSOD were related to ntoskrnl.exe. I'm having a hard time understanding what to do going forward with just google searches. I get no signs of problems after running memtest and chkdsk on drives. I've done a clean install of win10 on two hard drives. On both new installs I'm unable to install software, saying they are corrupt. I tried to use prime95, with the app crashing almost immetiately with a blend torture test. Smallest FFTs test ran for 14 hours or so, results show everyt ..read more
