Are you in desperate need of turning your laundry pile around or simply needing some help to make the entire process feel a little more smooth? I have been there, and as a mom of five kids I know only too well we all are only one stomach bug or fun day of messy outdoor play away from the pile materialising. Everyone has to deal with laundry, some more than others and I am going to share with you tips and organisational tricks I have found to help keep things running ..read more

I remember the feeling that 2023 was probably going to be the Golden year in our family. There was a lot of hard work involved but happy milestones were being reached and things felt safe and on course. I knew things would change in 2024 but I did not know how seismic these changes were about to be, not just for our family with Simon graduating and starting a new job but for me personally. Our family has been facing some difficult decisions which in turn means that the very blueprint Simon and I had agreed on before starting our journey no longer works. Simon is still on track, the kids are st ..read more

If you know anything about me it is that I love photography. When I am not homeschooling and running a busy household I am a professional photographer. Photography is my creative outlet. I love capturing moments with my family and sharing my passion with others professionally. The ability to make moments last forever means so much to me and I know it mean ..read more

“If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?“
My husband and I are in on our way to celebrate 13 years as a couple this week. I always describe our relationship as a journey, and like any long journey it has come with a lot of growth, surprises both good and bad and a lot of self introspection, negotiation and adaptation.
I would describe our relationship as happy, there is trust and reliability and chemistry. While this is obviously good, it does require work and a lot of ongoing communication.
In the last couple of years a big shift happened which resul ..read more

One of our family favourites are roasted marshmallows by the fire… whether it is welcoming the warmer weather or bidding goodbye to the last days of Fall you can’t really find a nicer way to enjoy the evening together and relax. This being said, I sometimes fancy a gooey chocolatey marshmallow without having to build a fire or from the comfort of the sofa in front of a nice movie. In times like these, Home S’mores dips are the answer.
All you need are your usual crackers or biscuits for s’mores, marshmallows and chocolate chips. Preheat the oven to about 200C, put a layer of chocolate chips i ..read more

I had my first baby back in 2012. Like any first baby it was a world changing experience but being quite young I don’t think I was as prepared as I would have liked. I went on to have four more babies including a lovely set of twins so over the years I have had the chance to try countless baby and mommy items, some have been there nearly forever and others appeared over the years and despite being new they are firm favourites of mine I wish I had had from the beginning of my journey. Here they are:

As anyone may expect, homeschooling can be at times challenging. Teaching is a full time career for a reason, often unappreciated for all that it brings to society. It is very demanding, one has to keep on top of knowledge and find strategies to pass on that knowledge to many many different people who all have different ways of learning. Of course it is demanding, rewarding but challenging.
Homeschooling while very rewarding can be difficult at times, parents know well that not everyday is a day they can give everything their all and so there comes times when a little help can come in handy. A ..read more

It is funny how sometimes you fall into something unexpected and it just works so beautifully.
When our eldest reached the age kids in Scotland traditionally start attending primary school we had our held backs. At the time we were just getting in the swing of things with the twins and the eldest two were such a little team, something just did not feel right splitting them up. Our local primary school, albeit ideally located right across the road did not exactly took our breath away either. I made some research and with the encouragement of a few friends already on the journey, we decided to g ..read more

“It is our professional opinion that in view of these results you should pursue an ASD diagnosis”. And it all catastrophically but not shockingly clicked. And it has carried on “clicking” since I was met with this sentence and learnt more and more and more about it. In a terrifying way this is the answer I have been needing all along but it is also making me grieve a lot.
Let me explain that even if I had been a neurotypical person I did not have a normal childhood or upbringing by any standard. I am a grown adult and I am still picking up the pieces from all that I was put through, some of it ..read more
