My Dad left me a box with 40-ish 16 gauge shells. He left me an old drilling (16 gauge over 10mm?)that looks too old to fire modern, high-brass shells. I thought about peddling the shells at the gun show. I came up with a better idea. $180 on GB - I now own a Mossberg and Sons 390 KB. It had a lot of dirt and debris in it but, she cleaned up nicely. I though I would share my shiny new project. Barrel is the prettiest Blue in the safe ;D Can anyone tell me a manufacture year? How do I take... Mossberg and sons 390 KB ..read more

Installing Benelli M2 Speed Carrier Latch into M2 Field

Hi Folks - will a 2-piece Benelli M2 Speed Carrier Latch (top photo) fit into an M2 Field to replace the single-piece carrier latch if the round hole is machined out to an oval hole? I detest the standard M2 Field latch's stiffness, as it makes reloading slow and mangles my thumb. It's also easier to release cartridges by pressing the end of the M2 Speed Carrier Latch from the underside. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks [IMG width="442px"... So a site has a few old European shotguns, mostly Belgian, Spanish, and German for sale, and cheap! They are sxs 12ga. I am strongly considering buying one, having it cut down to 20" and using it for Cowboy action shooting. Why is this a good or bad idea ..read more

30" Barrel, Take Down, made in 1922. Professionally Hot Blued, Boyd's Walnut replacement furniture. I consider it one of my best Auction purchases. ($350 plus shipping and transfer, about 10-15 years ago.) I am debating cutting it down to 18.25", as any Collector value is already lost ..read more

These have been showing up a lot at gun shows lately. They're a conversion of a 19th century French musket into a breech loading shotgun. One YouTube video I saw showed the presenter firing modern 12 gauge shells, stating that "These are not Damascus barrels and are okay with smokeless ammo." What do you folks say about that? Any experience, positive or negative ..read more

Benelli M3 - Is Pistol Grip Worth It?

Hey all, back in the mid-late 90s I picked up a Benelli M3 Super 90... I believe it was one of the early HK ones. I upgraded it with a magazine tube extension but otherwise left it alone with the standard Benelli synthetic stock (no pistol grip). I was checking these out again to see what they're worth, and they all seem to be outfitted these days with the newer synthetic pistol grip stock (Benelli Part Number: 80046), which can be had for about $125. Is it worth getting the pistol grip... Benelli M3 - Is Pistol Grip Worth It ..read more
