I would like to remake the wood on this old double barrel shotgun I found in the woods at my family farm. Just to hang it on the wall. It has the number 99 engraved under where the safety would be. Someone decided to 'clean up' some of my older shotguns and in the process cold-blued any areas missing original blued finishes... This includes a few older Ithaca 37's and Winchester Model 12's and an 1897... Any idea how to remove JUST the cold blue without damaging whats left of the original blueing? I already neutralized, wiped down, and oiled em up good, but I'd like to (re-restore, unrestore? unblue?) fix this. 0000 brass wool maybe? Any experience (not wild ideas) would be great ..read more
