After talking shotguns, and my favorite one, the Winchester Model 50, I thought I'd call my favorite FFL and see what he had in the way of a "minty" original. He takes a look at his massive inventory of wood and steel weapons, then returns to the phone. "I think you need to come and see what I have." Off I go. He brings from his vault exactly what I've been looking to have once again...a minty model 50, .12 gauge, 28" barrel. Yeah, I HAD to snag it. It's very difficult to find what was a... Your favorite semi-auto shotgun for birding, past or present.

After selling mine decades ago, I'm looking at buying my favorite again...Just a plain Jane Winchester Model 50 .12 gauge. For some reason, that shotgun ran true every time I fired it, felt just right, and I was able to bring down more waterfowl and field birds than any other shotgun I've owned. Fit me like a glove too. It had a simple beauty to it, but the only thing I didn't like was cosmetic, that black trigger housing. A bit of cost-cutting I assume. I can afford a high-end shotgun, but... Stevens Model 67E -vs- 67A

I bought an inexpensive shotgun some years back, a no-frills Stevens Model 67A, because it was in minty condition, I didn't know much about the gun, but it looked well-made. I see quite a few 67E's out there, but few A's. The 67s are not well regarded, but basic, low-end shotguns it seems. Mine runs very well without a hiccup. The A's were made from '58-'68 and the E's from '73-'89. I can see the difference in the wood quality and workmanship between the two. Mine has very nicely finished... I have just bought a 12 gauge, pump shotgun that is marked as a Fabrique National BM100. If it did not have this marking I would swear it was a Mossburg 500. I realize that I am not an expert on shotguns, but I am not aware that Mossburg licensed anyone to manufacture a copy of the 500 Series. If it helps, there is a sling attachment at the end of the mag tube and the guns serial number is U686549. Hoping someone out there is knowledgeable about this. Searching the web I could find... Hoping to learn from those experienced with this shotgun. I wrote to Panzer who confirmed that this shotgun does not come with an ambidextrous or reversible safety. I’m looking to pick this up and would like to know if an aftermarket ambidextrous safety could be fitted to this gun ..read more

I own a Beretta Xtrema and noticed that the gray rubber inlays in the stock became sticky and deformed. I contacted Beretta and they advised me to wash with Dawn dish soap. I did this several times and it became worse. I looked it up on the internet and have found that it is a common problem with Beretta stocks. It is referred to as the Beretta sticky stock. I contacted Beretta again and they said they have received several calls regarding this defect and will not rectify their problem. so... Beretta A391 3.5 Xtrema ..read more

Hello, newby here to your forum. I am in search of so info, if anyone knows.... I have acquired a double barrel gun. It appears to be 16 ga on one side, demascus barrel and possibly 41 to 44 rifle caliber on the other. It appears to be of German descent. The only markings on the gun are on the spine the name " E Boerner en Edenkoben". If anyone has any info it would be appreciated. I have scoured the interweb wit no luck. I attached some pics hoping it will help. Thanks Lenny ..read more
