St. Dwynwen's story St. Dwynwen’s Day, which takes place on January 25th, is Wales' version of Valentine's Day, but how did she become the patron saint of Welsh lovers? According to welearnwelsh.com, her story goes like this... St. Dwynwen was a princess who is said to have lived during the 5th century. According to legend, she fell deeply in love with a man named Maelon Dafodrill but because her father, king Brychan Brycheiniog, had already promised her to another man, she was not allowed to marry him. Dwynwen was so distraught that she asked God to make her forget about her beloved. She was ..read more

Better for your body At Derw, we believe simple, natural ingredients and processes are the best way to create deliciousness, and our multiple awards for our cold brew and liqueur suggest that we're on the right track!  Our cold brew lacks the acidity and bitterness of regular coffee, which means your gut and digestion will be a whole lot happier, not to mention your tastebuds. It also means our liqueur needs much less sugar than most, 75% less sugar in fact, giving it a light, aromatic, full on flavour. When creating our ready to drink blended recipes, we wanted t ..read more

We all know that liqueurs by definition include sugar, and coffee liqueurs are no different. When we set out to create our coffee liqueur here at Derw, we knew we wanted simple, good quality ingredients. Our pure cold brew coffee is less bitter and less acidic than regular coffee, so we don't need to overload our coffee liqueur with more sugar to mask the bitterness. But how does it compare with the big brands? We researched the three big coffee liqueur ..read more

What is the difference between iced coffee and cold brew coffee? You can drink cold brew hot, but most people want to drink their cold brew... well, cold, so we get asked this question a lot! It all boils down to (excuse the pun) how iced coffee and cold brew coffee is actually made, which in turn affects the flavour and how it's served.
