I'm looking for help identifying what these spots are. At first I thought the fish had been bit and they were some scratches, but the white spots are bigger and spreading. This is the only fish showing signs except for a Cory cat that I've noticed has some torn fins ..read more

Hi guys, I would love your opinion. I received these cichlids from a guy that his aquarium broke. I really don't have any idea what they are. They are supposed to be the same species but two of them have different spotted pattern than the striped ones. My cousin says that it's a rare Tanganyika cichlid species called stigmatochromis woodi. What's your opinion ..read more

Hey everyone, I'm new to the hobby and just received my first 200-liter tank. I've started decorating it a bit, but I haven't filled it with water yet. My FX4 filter is due to arrive this Friday. I plan to keep an overstocked African cichlid tank with live plants. The first fish I'll introduce will most likely be some Pindani, Electric Yellow, and Aulonocara Fire Fish. I've read online that live plants can be difficult with African cichlids. Are there any cichlid-safe plants that I can... Plants in 200l african cichlid tank ..read more

It hatched and suddenly it disappeared. Today they laid eggs again, and I just noticed that the first batch of fry's are eating those eggs and the parents aren't protecting the eggs. May I know what might be the reason? Attached image for details ..read more
