I’m looking into breeding my dog for the first time and I’ve seen people list future litters for sale. I think it would be a good idea. I’m just not sure how selling a future litter works? What if I let too many people reserve a puppy from the litter but my dog doesn’t birth enough puppies? How many pups are you supposed to let be reserved? Also is it still first come first serve to pick a puppy or what would happen if someone reserved a male but there weren’t enough males in the litter come time for them to pick from what’s left?

My year old female chow chow is about to have her second heat soon and I just curious if it’s okay to breed her? I’m going take a her to the vet before hand to make sure she’s ready and everything but I’m just curious from your guy’s experience if I should wait until her 3rd heat or if it’s okay to do it now?

Feeling bummed today. We had a 7.5 progesterone on 2/24 and 2 TCIs with fresh semen done on 2/26 and 2/27 - nice concentration and good motility. Today, 31 days post ovulation, 29 days post breeding, vet was unable to locate any puppies on the ultrasound. She said maybe there’s a singleton she just can’t see. Said at this point, she should be able to see something and recommended an x-ray at 8 weeks just to be sure there are no puppies in case a c-section would be needed. So frustrating. We were so pumped for this litter after doing all the appropriate health testing (echo, holter, thyroid, O ..read more

Hello!
I am attempting to buy a maltipoo in the Florida area but I am struggling to find a breeder. I found one in my area but wanted to check with more knowledgeable people to see what their thoughts on this breeder are. The breeder is: Kat’s Kennel Pup’s in Highland Springs, FL https://katskennelpups.com/index.html
Thanks!

Our mother Mini Schnauzer has had two litters. Her daughter now 2 years old saw a new beau 23 days ago and we got two ties. Her nipples seem to have gotten larger since then. My vet says wait for 30 days then X-ray. We wish to start higher protein sooner. Any suggestions?

What’s a good schedule for feeding pups 4-6 weeks? Litter is 4 weeks today and currently I have them feeding on mom every 6-8 hours and 2 daily feedings of mush. New to all of this and would really appreciate any advice more experienced breeders can share! Thanks

I’ve got a small litter of 4 puppies who are six weeks old exactly today and earlier this evening I noticed they had worms (I think roundworms? But I’m absolutely not an expert so idk for sure). All 4 of them plus their mother are going to the vet first thing in the morning but one of them just threw up all over the floor which Google says is common with worms but I just wanted to make sure it’s normal because the consistency was like white and almost foamy and I’ve never seen that in my lifetime of always having dogs lol, and I want to make sure this isn’t like a rush them to a 24 hour vet s ..read more

So I've been breeding for many years and know all the basic ins and outs so don't need any of those kinds of tips BUT I came across some extra steps you can do such as early neurological and scent stimulation programs. What a great idea! I haven't thought about scents before. I'm always wanting to improve my breeding program so if you have any non common tips like that or extra things you do that most don't, I would love it! Thanks in advance!

Hey all! Sorry if this is the wrong sub for this but wasn't able to find much with some Google fu. My sister recently found out her Aussie girl is expecting, I was hoping to get her some thoughtful stuff she might not have thought of or found on guides online that will help! Any ideas welcome!
