So i have a 3 year old chocolate lab that my breeder wanted to use for the first time as a stud. I dropped him off at his property Sunday and they tried putting him in with her on Monday and Tuesday and from my understanding he sniffed her but was so distracted that he didnt mount her. All he does at home is smells the rear end of my female lab who is fixed. When I picked him up there was 8 other dogs in kennels all barking like crazy so I don't doubt he got distracted. My trainer also said... Male Lab wont mount ..read more

Hi everyone I am wondering how much Hips and elbows and heart and eyes cost you to get done. Also does anyone know of a vet that does them in the Knoxville Tennessee area or within a hour from here. Breeding not happening until 2024-2025 so not in rush to find one just trying to see how much it would be ..read more

Hi everyone I'm new here - I'm Teresa in the US, and have been seeking a Labrador puppy that will be my (beloved family member and) service dog prospect for a while now. I have had a deposit and been on a wait list from a breeder (whom I thought I had researched well) - the litter due date was a few days ago. The dam is a small field bred Labrador with appropriate health clearances, 20" and approx 50 lbs. The sire also with health clearances is a tall, lanky field bred Labrador about 26"... Hi there, I’m from Australia but haven’t found an equivalent helpful forum locally. I have browsed through the threads and also done a fair bit of googling but would like to receive input in regards to her hip scoring (done at age 2) which is as follows: Norberg Angle R 3 L 1 Subluxation R 2 L 2 Cranial acetabular edge R 1 L 1 Everything else 0 which gives a total of R 6 and L 4 - score of 10 Breed average here in Aussie is 8.54 elbow is 00 and all her dna tests and eye exams are... Not sure if this is the right place for this question, but any help or direction would be appreciated. We picked up our 9 week old lab from an ethical breeder with 35 years of experience Saturday. By the next day he was showing sign of illness. By Wednesday he was diagnosed with Parvo. He is doing well now. The breeder has been contacted. Has been helpful and concerned. Has not offered any assistance on the medical expense even though our vet believes it had to have been contracted at... Parvo and breeder responsibility ..read more

Evening all, we have a chocolate girl from a litter born 25th July 2015. Had her from Poolehall Labradors in Shropshire. Her sire was Poolehall Mr Buttons. She is an absolute delight & we adore her. Would love to hear about her relatives, even better any litter mates as she was from a large litter of 12 (I think). She has a very distinctive wavy coat, which we love, so would be interesting to see if her brothers & sisters developed the same...look forward to hearing from you ..read more

Labrador Singleton Pregnancy

My girl is 3 years and 4months and is pregnant for the first time. Yesterday she had a scan (at around 31 days) which showed only one 'very active' pup. Vet said he couldn't see any others. I'm having a minor freak out after reading potential complications with singleton births. I'm wondering if any of you have had a lady lab who had a singleton pregnancy? Did she deliver normally or by C section and what was the outcome. Also has anyone had a scan showing only one pup, but the dam... Labrador Singleton Pregnancy ..read more

Should I get this lab?

Hi All, I have found a yellow lab for sale, sire has hip score of 3/3 but dam has not had a hip assessment. The dam’s dam has a score of 7/6 and dams sire has a score of 3/6. Is this a good idea? Elbow scores are 0/0 for all, and DNA tests on sire and dam of the pup are all clear. We will have the pup as a family pet and won’t be working her. Thanks for all the advice ..read more
