Hi I have beautiful healthy male. That came from great bloodlines. I have done his DNA testing and everything came back cleared. I have decided that I would like to start a breeding program and get my own female. Can you breed a dapple to a chocolate and tan or cream? I know with the cream they can carry hidden dapples so I will have to watch for that. I have a dapple smooth girl and have found a stud for her ( black and tan ). However the owner just told me that her dogs grandfather is a silver dapple. I know not to breed two dapples. But is there a safe “generational distance” between grandad and stud here or not? Is there even a safe “generational distance”? Her dog has not been DNA tested. Me and my partner have done a wisdom panel and I've messaged then to ask if she was a double dapple and they've said yes she was but doesn't hold any characteristics of a double dapple. Hi there. I don't currently own a dachshund, but I am hoping to adopt one from either a breeder or from a shelter (I would really love to get a puppy tho). I am in love with the smooth red hairs.
