Ok, so I’m convinced that it’s gotta be a computer programming issue. Or maybe a physics issue?
In my 2019 SR5P, I fill up and it says 315 miles. Ok, cool. As soon as the needle is on the “south side” of the large full line, it’s at about 260miles. But right after that point, it sucks the life out of the gas and it’ll be empty within like 2 days. My Tahoe V8 did the same. It just seems that once the gauge goes below the FULL thick line, gas runs through the engine quicker.
Is it me? Does anyone else notice this?

Hey guys! Thinking of buying my brother’s 4runner. It’s 4wd, been taken good care of. The 4Runner’s life have been used as a daily only. Minimum trips to the hunting club and it was used to just get around the property on the main dirt roads, nothing crazy. It has 200k miles and he’s going to give me a good deal.
Here’s my main question; will it last to 300k miles with minimal maintenance? (tires, cv axles, maybe a wheel bearing, oil, fluids, etc) Basically, what are my chances of it turning into a headache while I’m going back to college? I’m mechanically inclined and know how to work on ‘Yo ..read more

All persons involved walked away without serious injury (Thank God for Toyota).
Moment of silence for another lost Voodoo blue 4Runner….that’ll do Blue, that’ll do.

Security Systems
Wondering what everyone prefers for their security system. Ideally looking for something that has at least the front & back perspectives and also has motion detection or beefed up parking monitors. I see so many good things about the wolf box but unsure of the touch screen design. Want to know what everyone’s running and what they think of them!
Pic of my truck for attention. Pic of the member of this group that came to my house threatening to key my brand new 2023 pro! Was able to get a restraining order on him, but he’s apparently back at it & commenting on my R ..read more

I hoped it was an hour meter, like a tractor or lawnmower, but it obviously isn’t. I read on a forum it resets itself, but we can also reset it. So is it just a “long trip engine running timer”? Or do you all have other ideas/uses for it?
Seems useless to me, kind of like the door open graphic thing when every 4Runner I’ve driven will ding at you incessantly anyway if you do something dumb ?

Hello all, I recently brought a 2020 4Runner with 38k miles. I know how reliable and durable these are. Recently I seen a few threads of people reporting oil leaks from their 5th gen and was wondering how common this is on these cars.

I’ve recently acquired a 4th gen with the 4.7 V8 and had been searching between 4Runners, Land cruisers, and GXs for a year and most of the ones I’ve seen on the used market have 200k+ miles if not 250k+. Like to say I got lucky with mine being 165k miles.
Forgetting about the cost of the vehicle and maintenance that’s over 50k in just fuel alone at least.
For me this is a 4th car and the rest of them are decently fuel efficient and I work from home. This would only be a road trip car but if that’s the case for everyone how do they have such high miles when compared to Toyota Camry/Honda acco ..read more
