An early 22r block (w/ domed pistons) bored out +0.06 over with a 2.6l stroker kit. would this be too much compression or not enough clearance for a 20r head? what if? in this scenario I used the 22re flat top pistons would that lead to too low of compression? (I do still want to use 87 pump gas). - this is probly doing too much. would a 22r stroker kit would work with a 20r block and pistons and head? - this would make a REALLY torqy engine. are there any other cool builds you can do with... 1984 4Runner, 22r, 5 spd, with rear heat. So I'm almost done with 100% desmog and had a question about hear hose. There is a small metal pieces that bolts to head between ports on the on the intake manifold and a metal hard hose that wraps around the rear of the block to a soft rubber hose. Can I delete this and just route the hose differently or? I haven't quite figured it out through research. My new to me rig has 98,000 miles and I wanted to freshen up the suspension among other ware items. Over the weekend I busted ass installing new front springs, bushings,u-bolts and shocks on my clean ,stock 1985 Hilux xtra cab 4x4 . I am not a expert but how the springs look just setting on flat ground looks f'd up. Shackles jammed up to the frame, I" bump stop clearance and the springs have a negative arch. I found a dent in my front axle while its apart so its time for armor. I had a piece of metal laying around and got to work. I am swaping a 97 3.4 A/T out of a 4runner into an 90 3.0 M/T extra cab. I am going to use the 3.0 trans knowing the computer will throw codes for it. I'm ok with that. I bought a brand new 3.4 flywheel from napa. A 3.4 clutch assembly and am using a 3.0 throw out bearing like everyone says to use. After bolting the motor and trans together and trying to start it. My 82 toyota truck 4x4 manual transmission has a loud whine on accel and decel in all gears but otherwise works well and shifts very smoothly. The noise sounds very much like a differential whine. I am wondering if a bad front input shaft bearing might cause this?
