So to make a long story short for the moment , I've put a 1KD FTV in my 06 Tacoma. Chugs along great after initial issues. Engine puts out approximately 175 horse, not sure of Torque. Issue is I can't connect anything to OBD to let me alter basics,( boost, fuel, injector codes, etc). I know others have done this swap, but the circle of us has to be small. Hello, so the titel pretty much says it all - how does the Hilux frame compare to the big brother Land Cruiser 200 which is based off the Tundra chassis? And also how does it compare to the EU Ranger frame if anyone knows. Reason is: As far as i know in some countries the F-150 and the Range have a very similiar frame, so that Range frame is massive, but the EU range has a weaker one. I'd like a new mid-sized truck this year. I tested a '24 Tacoma TRD Off Road a few days ago and I really like pretty much everything about it compared to the competition (though I haven't tested the new Ranger or a Canyon). I liked the comfort, the drive and handling, the drivetrain acceleration. And the features with a mid-level TRD Off Road package will work for me. My expectations were low-ish and I was impressed. Hi all, been a while since I posted. I am ready to put a front bumper and winch on my 2011. I was planning on getting the Smittybilt M1, but they have discontinued bumpers for the 2nd gen. I wheel mostly on sand roads and through mudholes, and through some area that have low cut stumps. No real rocky areas around me. There is minimal info out there on this installation, and there are a lot of reasons ARB does not say this fits a GX. I took a gamble and installed one of these. It kinda works. Here are a few take-aways. 1) Fitment is questionable at best. It does kind of fit but there are a lot of little things that are VERY different from a Prado. Mainly fenders and the hood.
