I have a 1992 yamaha phazer 480 with a aftermarket exhaust. The plugs keep getting fouled and it dosent seem to run with as much power as a one with a stock exhaust. My elevation is around 1000-2000 feet. I don't know what exhaust it is and how it incorporates with the jet size.
There is also no marking on the exhaust ..read more

Ok cat-people, I'm trying to get my 85 yr old dad's '98 Polaris Indy 500 Touring sled running (it's a fan cooled engine). Last week, I took it on a short loop and it would run 2-3 miles but if I let it drop down to an idle, it would bog out and die. I would then need to wait 5 - 10 minutes before getting it to start again. So, I pulled/cleaned the carbs, pulled/cleaned and installed new fuel pump parts. Once I pressurized the fuel tank, I was able to get it fired up again using full...

In addition to my AC i have a really nice 92 indy trail deluxe. Last season i had some brake issues(caliper froze up) so i stuck it in the barn. I have started disassembly to repair that and figured i would also change the Chaincase fluid since i looked like would need to move that to get at the brake caliper(apparently not after getting it open and loosened up).
Can the caliper be rebuilt? Looks like the piston is stuck. Best way to free it up?
I have a rebuild kit here somewhere for the...

I have a ‘99 Ski Doo Formula Z 500 that sat for a few years and the carbs gummed up. Rebuilt the carbs and fuel pump, did compression test (125 on both) and I can not get it to run. Has spark, has fuel, great compression. I’m stumped ..read more

Hi, I've just bought a 2009 Polaris 550 Trail Touring snowmobile. The manual advises filling the oil tank up to the "Fill" mark. My tank is white plastic with square upper corners, and a tool storage compartment in the top. It has an air vent line which is connected to the bleed-air-out fitting on the oil pump which feeds the carbs. My question: where is the fill mark on this tank? I've checked other forums, our local Polaris dealer, who says he checked with Polaris, and no one seems to...
