The Grand Egyptian Museum has been under construction for several years and is in Giza, next to the famous Pyramids of the Giza Plateau. Since the fall of 2021, different authorities in Egypt have been announcing that the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), Cairo’s ambitious new gargantuan archaeological museum, will be opening in November of 2022. Travelers to Egypt used to have to show either a proof of negative Covid-19 test, or a proof of vaccination against Covid-19. Now, as of late June, neither is needed to enter Egypt. On 16 June, 2022, Egypt officially dropped ALL Covid-19 entry requirements in order to travel to Egypt! This means that for all nationalities, passport holders, and foreigners, no one needs to worry about having a proof of vaccination or a PCR or rapid antigen test in order to enter Egypt!
