Hello I have been having ECU problems with my 2007 1.3cdti and i thought it was solved when a indie Vauxhall man told me it was 90% water in the ECU, he cleared the faults and it ran great for 1 week and again it is missing terribly. A few years ago my son had similar problems with his Corsa 1.3cdti which suffered water ingress and we either bought a plug and play ECU or we sent ours to be reconditioned from a guy up Middlesbrough and we put it in the car without any coding required and it was okay. We still have the car but it has failed its mot drastically so it is now scrap will the ECU go ..read more

Hello fellow members Had a problem which was doing my head in so i took it to a local independent Corsa specialist & scanned it & cleared the faults he told the ECU faults were comparable to water ingress & also told me that the fact the number 1 injector showed faulty one day & then number 3 injector showed faulty another day also points towards water ingress although the place where the ECU sits is dry & has not had water swilling about due to blocked drain holes as is the norm & touch wood it has run perfectly since. I am always interested in this discussion. What is your favourite Brand of engine oil and why? I currently have a Corsa D 1.2 2013. I run shell 5w30 in it. I was team Castrol purely because I knew the name when I first go in vehicle approx 6 years ago. First post on you Forum but been lurking for a while. My grandson’s 2013 1.4 turbo has lots of oil in the header tank. However there is no ‘mayonnaise’ under the cam cover but the waterways are loaded with emulsion and it does lose water. I’ve started to strip it out thinking head gasket but the lack of water in the valve train is worrying. It also used a lot of oil very recently so I’m thinking is there a quick way oil can ge to the waterways as it runs fine with no misfires and the plugs all look good.
