LA Kings: Goalie Outlook For 2024-25

The LA Kings have added a couple of new goalies to the organizational depth chart this off-season, leading to an interesting group—my thoughts on the strongest goalie depth the Kings have had in years. Darcy Kuemper Darcy Kuemper returns to LA after stops in Arizona, a year in Colorado where he won the Stanley Cup, and finally, Washington where he spent the last couple of seasons. Kuemper was traded for this off-season in a swap for Pierre Luc-Dubois. He’s looking for a bounce-back season because his numbers weren’t NHL-caliber last season. He finished with a record of 13-14-3 a.890 save perce ..read more

LA Kings: The search for a scoring winger

The opening of Free Agency has come and gone with most LA Kings fans trying to erase July 1st from their memories. Despite handing out over $7.3M over seven years to two players – not to mention the $2.67M for fourth-liner Tanner Jeannot, the Kings still haven’t addressed their need for a top-six scoring winger. Right now, General Manager Rob Blake – who has seen his approval ratings plummet to the levels of our Presidential candidates – does have some money to work with, albeit not much. Per CapFriendly, the Kings have just over $10M in cap space but that does not include contracts for Quinto ..read more

The NHL offseason kicked into high gear over the weekend, beginning with the NHL Entry Draft on Friday. For the LA Kings, they’ve so far made a pair of trades before signing three players on Monday when Free Agency opened up. While there is plenty of time between now and the start of the season, the LA roster has largely taken shape. Here, we will take a look at some of the recent moves that General Manager Rob Blake has made. The Good Warren Foegele (UFA signing, 3 years, $3.5M AAV) This was a really nice bit of business by Blake. After losing Viktor Arvidsson to the Edmonton Oilers, Foegele ..read more

Dear Reign/Kings/Hockey Royalty fans, With the AHL and NHL seasons ending this past Monday, another season is in the books! My third season (second full one) is now history. LA Kings select four players and trade for Tanner Jeannot at NHL Draft

First off, what an outstanding venue to hold the NHL Draft. I went into the weekend with high expectations and the Sphere lived up to them. It’s surprising to see the National Hockey League, who for the most part can’t get out of their own way, pull off something this remarkable. With the draft now decentralized moving forward why not continue to hold it there? As for the LA Kings, it was a busy weekend for general manager Rob Blake and Director of Scouting Mark Yannetti. Going into the draft the plan was clear. Try and move back in the first round to accumulate more picks. And they did just t ..read more
