I have a 2005 Tundra double cab with 300k miles. Though I am not a good mechanic, I try to solve problems on my own before taking it to a shop. I am getting check engine light codes P0441 and P0455. The gas cap was recently replaced with an OEM. Following the guidance of this thread, the VSV tests fine with a multimeter ~28 ohms. When I apply 12 volts to the VSV from the battery I hear clicking and confirm air flows thru. Without 12 volts there is no airflow. With the key turned to on... 2005 Tundra double cab testing VSV, etc. for codes P0441 and P0455 ..read more

Long story guys: Went to the lake to swim and on the way home, I was behind 6 or 7 cars on a dirt road. It was very dusting. Stayed on that dirt road for bout 30 min. It was a long road. Lol. Got on the interstate and drove for bout another 30 min. Exit off the interstate and stopped at the red light. My truck engine suddenly just dies. I put back in PARK and it starts and sounds normal. I put it in DRIVE and engine dies right away. It starts up in PARK AND NEUTRAL, but will die if i put i... 2000 tundra 4wd dies while changing gear ..read more

Hi all, we just had a cold front come through that took temps down from around 32F to -10F. I started up the Tundra and drove off fine but discovered that the brake pedal was very stiff and I really had to push on it to get the truck to slow down. I pulled over and stopped, then pressed down hard on the brake pedal a few times and it freed up. After that it was fine. Any ideas what could be wrong here and if I should take it to a shop? I was wondering if the extreme weather conditions could... Brake pedal hard when very cold ..read more

SOS...... 2005 Tundra 4x4 4.7 265k on the clock. It suddenly has some weird demons. I drove truck to airport and left the country. I just came back today and It will not crank. Turn key to start and no clicks, no nothing. I can hear air pump running under intake when key is in run position, headlights / dash lights do not dim when trying to crank. Battery is top notch. After long hours of checking every fuse and relay, moving shift selector back and forth with key in start position and still... SOS...stranded far from home with No crank weirdness ..read more

Hey there first timer here. have a couple questions here. Looking to get some wheels on my new/old tundra. The tires are good just want new wheels. They tires are 16” and the bold pattern is 5 lug so wondering if 2013 sequoia wheels will fit since they are 5 lugs as well second thing is the radio doesn’t turn on at all. Wondering if it’s just a bad fuse. and lastly what are some signs that it’s time to replace the shocks on the truck. The truck has around 210kish miles on it ..read more
