Dear Librarians,   I’ve been away from the setting and this board for a long time.  Have recently been drawn back to the setting and in particular was contemplating getting back into ESO.  I largely play ES as a way to think about its lore, if that makes any sense ..read more

PGE2E - The Misty Island of the South Pyandonea

As mentioned in the other thread I recently came across what I wrote for the PGE2E. I thought I would share it with everyone. Enjoy. The Misty Island of the South - Pyandonea The island of Pyandonea is one of the most exotic locations in the documented parts of Nirn. Covered in a perpetual cloud of mist; descriptions of its landscape vary, sometimes greatly, in the reports that have made it back to Tamriel. Most agree it is a mix of heavy rainforest and white sandy beaches. Several species of carnivorous reptilian birds make their homes on the rocks that dot the beaches. Packs of wave vipers ..read more

PGE2E - Morrowind Important Places

I was digging around in my mountain of flash drives and came across the stuff I had written for the PGE2E, which I thought I had lost. If I remember right, these were for a "Important Places" type sidebar for the Morrowind section. I regret that this is 10 years too late but maybe some of you will still find this interesting. I also have the Pyandonea section, which I plan to post after taking another pass at. And a really terrible attempt at the Kalpa Akashicorprus section, which isn't worth posting in it's current state. Maybe I'll finish it at some point, who knows.   Nixi Oreshi – The ..read more

Here is where you can post threads or posts to be included in the Archives. If you're posting a quote only, please provide the date (in mm/dd/yy format) and the topic of the quote. If you're attaching something, please use the farch_ prefix and make it a plain HTML document. If its still on the forum, just send a link.  If I messed up or omitted anything from the archive proper, this is the place to berate me, too. Its still a work in progress, though, so hold up on the berating 'till I say I'm done. Ok, done, go ahead ..read more

A library is more than the information it has collected. It is also the infrastructure to help users find the information they need. I suggest this thread be established as a place for people to ask our librarians and colleagues for advice, recommendations and directions to find documents concerning certain subjects or containing certain quotes. The Imperial Library is relatively easy to navigate, but even so there are times when the texts we need aren't readily obvious or easy to access. At such times, the search function is god-awfully slow and sometimes it is hard to know what to search for ..read more

How many people suffer from lycanthropy? And how many of them are able to successfully hide their secret and live in society?

We don't actually see the human forms of most werewolves we interact with in the games outside of the Companions, who are able to control their bloodlust rather well in beast form. Is this level of control indicative of someone who has fully accepted lycanthropy, and is careful to keep themselves sated enough to not go haywire one day? And if that's the case, I wonder if werewolf communities or packs aren't more common than we may know. A bunch of werewolves keeping each other accountable and sane sounds like the only way for someone to live a normal life after lycanthropy, unless someone is s ..read more

Yagrum Bagarn's lawful claim to dwemer artifacts

Why hasn't Yagrum presented himself to the Emperor, laying claim to Vvardenfell and all dewemeri artifacts originating therein? I know His Excellence would welcome the man to the world of the living and immediately recognize Yagrum's acuity. Yagrum would make a wonderful duke, brushing aside the obnoxious and lazy dunmer savage with bronze men and magic music. He is perhaps the only hope for keeping the Empire's peace. What if Divayth Fyr had arranged for the Emperor, Elder Council, and Yagrum to meet and the Emperor had given him Vvardenfell? What would the 4th Era look like had Yagrum been U ..read more

Human religions of Tamriel

Religion in Hammerfell: The Yokudan Pantheon is widely accepted in Hammerfell and in some kingdoms worship of these gods is mandatory, though in some regions small Imperial cults persist. In Ephesus, for example, the cult of Mara is the prevalent religion. The Ideal Masters draw many followers from Hammerfell though some Necromantic traditions in the region are based in Daedric worship rather than bargains with the masters of the Soul Cairn. Religion in High Rock: The Breton faith is strongly influenced by it's elven roots, with Mer hero-gods and legends incorporated into the myths r ..read more

Daedric Artifacts

Question regarding the Daedric Artifacts as they would be used in a FanFic following Elder Scrolls canon. Can a character following the lore canon volunatrily give up one of the Daedric Artifacts if the character decides to sell, attempt to destroy, or dispose of the artifact without the consent or against the wishes of the Daedric Lord. Example - could the recipient of the Masque of Clavicus Vile sell it to , say, a Coven of Witches or Vampiric Clan with ties to a powerful faction opposed to that particular Prince.   ..read more
