For what seemed like forever this offseason, the Jets were waiting on Aaron Rodgers. The two-time MVP expressed his desire to play for the Jets on an episode of the “Pat McAfee Show,” but a trade was not immediately agreed upon afterward. The Jets and Packers had to bridge a considerable gap in the compensation to bring the superstar quarterback to New York. Days became weeks, and it seemed like the trade discussions could drag out throughout the summer at one point. Yet, deadlines make deals, and the Jets and Packers eventually reached an agreement that sent Rodgers to his new team. Throughou ..read more

In what felt like the blink of an eye, the 2023 NFL Draft has come and gone. The Jets, who came into Thursday with five total selections, made seven selections over the course of the seven-round draft. The team’s draft began in the first round, as with the 15th overall selection, the Jets took Will McDonald out of Iowa State. Initially, this pick caused some confusion, as other players on the board seemed like better fits for the Jets’ current roster. With offensive tackle Broderick Jones going one pick ahead of New York, wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba would have been a great addition to the ..read more

Allen Lazard Brings Stability to the Jets’ Wide Receivers

The Jets have clear and present needs, but the signing of Allen Lazard brings stability to the Jets’ wide receivers — as Braxton Berrios was cut, and Corey Davis is expected to be released in the coming weeks. Amid the Aaron Rodgers situation, the NFL’s new league year officially began with the start of free agency. Even without having their (potential) new quarterback on the roster, the Jets needed to make additions to a roster with some remaining positions of need. The Jets were able to shore up the receiver room relatively quickly, though, as the team signed former Green Bay Packers wide re ..read more

While the Jets work to bring Aaron Rodgers to New York officially, they are still making moves to improve their roster for the 2023 season. After adding Allen Lazard on a four-year deal a few weeks ago, the Jets added Mecole Hardman to strengthen their receiver room further. Hardman, a former second-round draft pick, signed a one-year, $4.5 million deal. It has a $3 million signing bonus, a base salary of $1.08 million, and $4.08 million guaranteed. Hardman brings a speed element to the field that few people in the NFL can match. At the NFL Combine in 2019, Hardman ran a 4.33 40-yard dash, giv ..read more

Amid the Aaron Rodgers situation, the NFL’s new league year officially began with the start of free agency. Even without having their (potential) new quarterback on the roster, the Jets needed to make additions to a roster with some remaining positions of need. An underrated position was the wide receiver position, as Braxton Berrios was cut, and Corey Davis is expected to be released in the coming weeks. The Jets were able to shore up the receiver room relatively quickly, though, as the team signed former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard to a deal. In the midst of swirling quarterback rumors, the Jets are not only focused on improving one position on their team. Outside of quarterback, the team still needs to add talent to multiple areas on the roster. For many of these positions of need, the 2023 NFL Combine, located at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, gave the Jets a shot to look at some key draft prospects. One of the most significant needs for the Jets is the offensive line. In his press conferenc ..read more

As the 2023 offseason approaches, there are key areas that the Jets need to improve at to compete next season. On top of the quarterback position, the team needs to improve the roster’s offensive line, linebackers, and safeties. These positions either need new starters or depth due to a lack of production or the starters hitting free agency. Yet, one position needs more attention in reference to next season.
