I just picked up a '00 Elantra 5spd bone stock and so far after topping off the gas tank I'm right at 230 miles w/ less than a quarter tank of gas left. Hey....I am hoping someone had this issue..... Getting a P1140 DTC which is air temp sensor.... This is a late 03 so it has a Mass airflow sensor and the temp sensor is built within it..... I replaced it with 2 diff new rebuild A Cardone units...still setting the same P1140 code.....After a day or two it also sets a P2195 which is a bank 1 sensor 1 Lean Code....I assume its caused by the temp sensor telling it to lean out....Ive looked all over the web... ..can't find a solution... checked... 2003 Elantra W/ P1140 problem.. need help ..read more

basically, I've got a boosted 08 Elantra 5spd that currently has a cvvt head on it. couldn't find any solution for tuning the car with the stock ecu so I turned to a microsquirt as a standalone without realizing that i wouldn't be able to control said cvvt(if it was a simple on off operation I could with it being continuous I can't). My thought was to swap back to the previous gen head that is non cvvt from the research I did i found no reason they wouldn't be compatible. any knowledge of... Hey ya'll! I have a 2008 Elantra SE. On Labor Day evening I got pulled over. The cop told me the left brake light and all tail lights were not working. I checked them and the brake light wasn't working, but the tail lights were working. I had the brake light replaced at Walmart. The next evening I could see it and the tail lights were working. im new to hyundais, I had nissans and hondas before this. Before saying Im a noob who doesnt know how to drive a 5-speed read the whole post. My 96 accord had 270k most of which I put on it and it had it's originalclutch when I blew the motor. What's wierd is 5000 miles after i bought my 04 GT the clutch went out. one side of the clutch disc completely came off and shredded. My driver side window on my 2000 Elantra is getting sluggish and seems to be getting worse and worse as each day passes. It goes down fine but goign up is horrible. First of all, is there a possibility that it can be something other than the motor thats keeping my window from rolling up properly? Second, is replacement of the power window motor easy? hi, i just bought a set of secondhand seats for my elantra i was told they were out of a 2005 hatch (the same as mine) but the seat track is out by about 10mm?? when i looked at interior shots at a few online they seem to be the same as a 2001 model, does anyone know if they have different seat tracks or something?? i need to work out what they came out of as i want to re advertise them and dont know what to advertise them as lol.... thanks in advance ..read more

So I bought a 98 Elantra GLS with the 1.8 Beta 1 engine. The car has 223xxx miles on the clock so I wanted to do a compression test to check the engines health, My results were as follows. 1 - 205 lbs 2 - 190 lbs 3 - 190 lbs 4 - 195 lbs So I have the numbers but I dont know how to use them. I know its okay because there is less than a 10% difference cylinder to cylinder. I should also mention this was basically a wet run because every plug had oil in it.
