Hello all. I need some information regarding the LR lower shock bolt/brake stopper bolt and mounting. The bike I have is missing the bolt/brake stopper/shock absorber mount bolt. From what I can find, it is 18mm x 1.5 TPI and about 2 1/2"- 3" long. The bolt, after the 18MM threads, drops to about 10MM where it goes through the lower shock. It goes through the shock then through the opposite side mount on the swingarm. It continues on to the rear brake caliper mount to keep it from turning... '84-'85 Gl1200 ..read more

Hi Ya'll, so I'm having to replace both tires on my 2001 GL 1800 and I'm a bit overwhelmed by all of the tires out there for this bike and all of the different ratio's associated with the tires themselves... I'm looking for some assistance in better understanding tire jargon and possibly getting a recommendation from someone. Which windshield do most people prefer the stock width or the bigger/wider one? A pic of the bike with the old fuzzy wide windshield. The bike is almost ready to go. Wheels off it now I painted them 3 weeks ago been curing since tires ordered (Shinko230's ). I took off all the saddlebags and mounts, new belts, carbs rebuilt, cleaned and polished most of the bike.
