Hello, I ride all year in cold or summer mornings but right now its just perfect here. I only ride within our state but I have done some long rides but the these days its mostly short rides 3 or 4 hour rides round trips at the most. When I got my 86 1200 interstate about 25 years ago, it had 40,000 miles on it, it now has 100,000 miles on it which I have put on all in az. Greetings. So I got bored over the winter, and started to research GW’s and liked everything I saw. I found a great deal on a new 23 bagger in Iowa City in Feb, bought it over the phone, had it shipped, and have been enjoying it thoroughly for the last month and a half. So, I picked up a 1984 gl1100 (so I thought) on a trade didn’t really pay much attention to it. It needs some new parts to run. Got to looking at parts and that’s where the confusion begins. Everything I can find says in 84 they went to the gl1200. The bike is definitely a gl1100 and the vin on the bike and vin on the title match. But the title says 84. What gives? The bike is in KM/H. Hello all. I purchased my first GW in 2021 brand new in AZ. I used to consider these the "old man bikes" when I was in my teens and owned a Honda Sabre. But now that I'm in my 50's, I don't think I'd go back to anything less than the GW. I consider myself a novice but I love riding it and the way it handles. The only downside is how hot it gets in AZ, but I can ride it nearly year round. I recently moved to Kansas and am looking forward to getting the GW to KS so I can ride it again. I miss... I bought a 94 csc trike conversion recently. I had not had a wing for about 16 years. Had a gl1000 And a gl1100 years ago and loved them both. Also attended nemerous GWRRA rally’s ove the years. I just learned that GWRRA closed the group a couple years ago. I was shocked and disappointed to say the least. I am wondering if another group has started up to fill the void?
