As you can see in my other posts, I've highlighted some concerns about the 2024 R-Line. So to be fair, I want to share what things are most impressive. This is not a crampy smaller vehicle and if you need leg room, you won't be disappointed in the front or back seats. EXTERIOR. The overall design lines of the body and wheel/tire ratio to the body are outstanding. The new lighted front and back VW lighted logos and front hood LED strip really makes the car pop at night. 2024 Atlas R-Line - only the passenger side mirror can fold down when in reverse.

In other vehicles I've owned, you can have one or both side mirrors tilt down when in reverse. In this car, only the passenger mirror can be tilted down, but only after you go through an initial customization set-up process and then afterwards by manually turning the driver's mirror switch to the right side mirror setting each time you want the mirror to tilt down while in reverse. The hands free charger which is now an expected feature in today's cars is present. It is located in the center console close to the dash, but it is really tucked away and somewhat awkward to set the phone in. The intent of my posts are to provide VW with customer sat, not to bash VW ..read more

2024 Atlas R-Line - steep learning curve if you want to customize factory settings

There are a ton of vehicle and creature feature settings that can be adjusted or customized, but without hours of watching YouTube videos and referencing the manual, good luck. I have spent uncountable hours trying to set this vehicle up for what this screen or that screen will display and the settings I have loaded, but eventually I got it done. If you are not a somewhat tech-savvy person, leaving the car set to factory settings might be best for you. 2024 Atlas R-Line - no dedicated heat or voltage gauges

Two very important vehicle gauges are missing from the standard equipment dash cluster. The engine temperature and battery voltage gauges are not permanently displayed. Instead, you have to decide if you want to customize a screen view to show these gauges, but that comes at a cost. If you want to see the temp and voltage, then that means you'll not be able to display some other information that would have been displayed had you not chose to display temp and voltage. 2024 Atlas R-Line - where is the odometer??

Oh I found it, but you only see the odometer mileage if the cruise control is off. That's right. If your cruise control is "on", then you won't be able to see the odometer reading. To see the odometer mileage, you have to turn off the cruise control. The intent of my posts are to provide VW with customer sat, not to bash VW ..read more

You'll be very disappointed by the key fob's extremely poor range capability - must be within just a few feet for it to work. The intent of my posts are to provide VW with customer sat, not to bash VW ..read more

2024 Atlas R-Line - can't see the music volume and heating touch controls

I now know what others have said about not being able to "see" the music volume and heating touch controls at night, because these touch areas have no back light or nigh time illumination. This means that when you are driving at night, you can't see where to touch to turn the music up/down or increase/decrease the temp. Although I know they are located below the primary information screen, I can't see them at night and that causes me to take focus off driving to try to make these... 2024 Atlas R-Line - can't see the music volume and heating touch controls ..read more

2024 Atlas R-Line - no-touch screen gesturing unreliable

After owning the 2024 Atlas R-Line, we have learned that the no-touch screen “gesturing” only works once in a while. It is very unreliable, so touching the screen is the best option. However, the overhead light control switches do work well to shut off or turn on the front seat dome lights ..read more

2024 Atlas R-Line - random noise coming from passenger front when making turns

We bought a 2024 Atlas R-Line in Sept 2023. After about a month, in October it started making a random noise when turning left or right. I’ve never heard a sound like this before in a vehicle, but if you have ever heard turkeys gobbling or guinea pigs making their noise, that is exactly what this odd sound sounds like. It never happens when the car is stationary so far, only when making turns and it sounds like it is coming from the right front wheel well or firewall area. The sound does... 2024 Atlas R-Line - random noise coming from passenger front when making turns ..read more
