The popularity of 3D printing in the dental industry has been expanding, and along with it the technology itself and the quality of output it is capable of producing. Today a dentist or lab technician can create a print faster, more easily, and more accurately than ever before. These improvements have led to an increasing number of dental professionals seeking the latest developments to add to their arsenal of tools – including the most advanced UV curing ovens and nitrogen sources. How Is Our Ender 5 S1 Doing?

As all our regular readers will know, we got our hands on a Creality Ender 5 S1 a couple of months ago. Last month I wrote a review on it, but since then I’ve been using it a lot, and I thought I’d give an update on my experiences with it. So here we go; you’ve had my initial impressions of it, so let’s take a bit of a deeper dive. It Just Works This is a very low-maintenance 3D printer. As long as you put a couple of drops of oil on the Z axis drive screws every week or so, and protect it from dust, it just keeps running. Thanks to Creality Slicer’s habit of adding its auto-levelling routine ..read more

Review – Creality Slicer

Like many people I tend to use Cura for all my slicing requirements. It’s free, it’s quite easy to use and it contains just about every configuration option any 3D printing enthusiast could ask for. It isn’t the only option, though. Other slicers are available, and it’s always a good idea to check them out occasionally in case you’re missing something. I got a chance to do this recently with our new Creality Ender 5 S1, because the SD card that came with it included the latest version of Creality Slicer. So I thought I’d install it and give it a shot. What Is Creality Slicer? Like many 3D prin ..read more

A few weeks ago I mentioned that we now have an Ender 5 S1. Since then I’ve built it, set it up and played with it, so I thought it was time to let you all know what I think of our latest printer. Suffice to say this is a machine that’s going to keep me busy for quite a while, and I’m very excited about it. So, without further ado, let’s get the box open and see what Creality’s latest offering is like. What’s In The Box? The Ender 5 comes in a big, sturdy box; opening it, the first thing I spotted was a bag containing a quick-start manual, the usual paperwork and a sheet of amusing 3D printing ..read more

The Creality Ender 5 S1

We haven’t really talked about Creality’s Ender 5 much so far. The main reason for that is, basically, that we didn’t have an Ender 5. We do have an Ender 3, as you’ll know if you’ve been following this blog for the last couple of years, so while we do try to feature other 3D printers whenever we can the Ender 3 has got most of the attention when it comes to Creality models. It’s what we’re most familiar with, after all, and as we started off with the standard model it’s easy to compare when Creality release an upgrade like the Ender 3 S1. We looked at the Ender 3 S1 last March, not long after ..read more

Here’s how to deal with some of the most common frustrations. Nothing To Print? If your 3D printer i ..read more

3D Printing Tips – Fixing Elephant’s Foot
3D PRINTING UK
by Fergus M

If you’ve been 3D printing for any length of time, the chances are you’ve encountered the dreaded elephant’s foot problem. Just in case you don’t know what that is, it’s when the lower layers of your print bulge out. For pretty much any 3D-printed object, this looks untidy. For anything with screw holes or other mechanical connections it’s a serious problem, needing either some serious post-processing to get things fitting properly or, more likely, a second attempt in the hope the print will come out properly this time. The problem is, it isn’t likely to come out properly unless you fix the is ..read more
