Gday, I've got a 2001 Camry wagon which has been having locking issues for a while now, just started occurring out of the blue. There is no fob so we manually unlock and lock from the driver side door, however the rear and front passenger doors consistently have issues. Either when we unlock one or both doors don't unlock and must be unlocked from inside the car, or when we lock it one or both don't lock and the car beeps. To fix that, we open the door, lock it from the inside, the lift up the handle and close the door before releasing the handle. That fixes the locking issue.  When test ..read more

2007 - Floor mat

Hi. I have a nice 2007 Grande which is still in good nick, except for the drivers floor mat. Normally it wouldn't be a problem to replace the floor mat but because it has the word CAMRY embroidered into the floor mat, I would like to replace it with the same again.  I'm feeling reasonably confident that a Toyota dealership would just laugh at a request for another factory one so my question is, is it even still possible to locate an embroidered floor mat for my 17 year old car? If so, where? Or is there a business that will replicate the original?   ..read more

G'day all, Happy to join this forum.  I'm trying to do most of the servicing on my 2005 Camry myself and hoping to learn from the collective wisdom here.   I'm a bit stumped with this one: I realised the other day that my driver side low beam is no longer working, so this morning I popped the bonnet, removed the globe, which looked fine.  I checked for any corrosion on the contacts, but again everything seemed fine, so I put it back in and tried again.  It still failed to work, but when I turn on the high beams, all lamps are fine - on both sides of the car, the high and lo ..read more

2002 CamrySportivo security horn - turn off? Kill?

Hi clubbers, this may be a common problem, but I can’t find it answered. My Camry 2002, Sportivo V6 Security alarm horn goes off intermittently, including middle of the night, annoying me and neighbours, and making the car almost unusable. It’s particularly trigger happy when parked on roads near tram lines or busy roads, but my house is a quiet court, nowhere near the tram line and it’s triggering in the middle of the night. I don’t believe car thieves are trying to break in and triggering it Toyota Camberwell say they don’t know how to fix it, which shocks me. And I can’t readily locate wher ..read more

Hi guys, I have a Camry 2004 (MCV36) with 1mz-fe engine. I just checked my tranny stick and the fluid look darker than normal so I was looking for an ATF change but seems like Toyota does not have that tranny fluid anymore. I am looking for an alternative and I found some on Supercheap which are Penrite ATF DXIII and Penrite ATF MHP. Which one is more recommended for my Camry and should I change the filter as well? thanks ..read more

Windscreen drain blocked?

I’ve got a 2004 Camry which after heavy rain has had a drivers side footwell soaked with a puddle of water.   I’ve cleaned it up and narrowed it to the drains under the windscreen cowl.   (tested with hose into the drain).  water still flows out the bottom of the drain or appears to but water flows down from behind the dash down to the floor.      what would cause this?   Can a partly blocked drain cause water to come inside the car?   Short of blocking the drain which isn’t the best thing to do what other solutions are there.   ..read more

Central Locking works intermittently on rear passenger door

Hi, I recently changed the interior door handles on my 2003 Camry Altise 4cyl manual as they were all cracked and broken, but upon testing the left rear door doesn't lock/ unlock with central locking (remote and with the drivers door thing), nor with the key, only when using the lock on the inside (that switch with the red sticker). I tried attacking it with copious amounts of innox and it now works intermittently (locks most of the time only unlocks sometimes). While having the door card off I did notice that when unlocking it with the central locking the wire would pull all the way out (as i ..read more

I have a 2005 Camry Alrise I am trying to program a 2 button remote key fob I bought from ebay, I have tried every instruction I can find on YouTube and the Toyota Owners forum only seen the ones for Aurion but I believe they should be same. I can't get any of the instructions to work as instructed. They never seem to program the remote and the car never appears to go into programming mode. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?  ..read more
