The machine shop messed up. Likely misadjusting the machine during boring, causing damage to the top of a cylinder bore. The engine block was bored .030 over and decked at the shop. Are the damages something that can be fixed or is the engine block scrap? My concern is that it may not be possible to install the pistons without damaging the piston rings, especially if the piston needs to be removed later. I just installed a cold air intake on a friend of mine’s car, and when we fired it up, the CEL came on and the baro sensor code is what came back. The first one was a generic one and the second said the reading was high. I popped the hood, and the clip was loose, so I popped it back in making sure it was tight. Boom problem solved it started with no check engine lights, and she just texted me saying she has another light on the dash. Is there a way to remedy this without going back to factory intake? My third gen (I sold my 2nd), reached a temp of 235 on the highway, would go down to 220-227 but would get up again to 235. For most of and hour it was around 230. I have heard many opinions. I have not started the car (it started fine right after I lost a tire, the loss of the tire caused no body or engine damage but I became paranoid because of the temp.) The car was towed and I have not started it since that day. on my 305, and I put two push in breathers on the valve covers. Now using my brain, I realize that air needs to go in and out, not just in. My question is, can the air flow in and out or just in? I have edelbrock 4443 push breathers on both valve covers, and the carb started smoking and I had a bad oil leak from the valve covers shortly after putting them on. If this is a bad thing to do, does it damage the engine? When I bought the car it had only one breather and the other valve cover had the open hole.
