Looking into getting a nismo rs

I know you guys get this a lot, but here it goes. I initially started with a list of around 40 cars, narrowed it down to the polo GTi vs the nismo rs, and considering that I'm here, you already know what I settled on. Before I pull the trigger, I'd like to get some opinions regarding the long term reliability of the Renault developed 1.6 turbo, any high mileagers around? The car I'm looking at is a 2018 manual nismo rs Thanks! submitted by /u/elcappydaddy [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello fellow enthusiasts. I'm buying a 2015 Nismo Juke next weekend. It's actually my kid's car, but I'm the one that will have to maintain and repair it. 103k miles. Runs and drives great. I've read all about the transmission timebomb I'm getting into, but hopefully it will hold up. I used to drive Subarus, so I'm used to living with the thought of imminent failure. This is a brand new platform for me, but I'm more than a little handy. These little pocket rockets are actually quite expensive (and rare) where we live, so we are flying down to TX and driving it home. Should be a fun trip. sub ..read more

Morning everone. Im trying to figure out how to get a wiring harness for my radio to be able to have my steering wheel controls. The radio i have is a "PLZ mp-902w" The wires i am trying to figure out how to connect are the 3 that are left over from factory radios. I want to believe one of them obtain the steering wheel control wires but i dont want to snip the wires without being sure. If its possible to obtain a harness that would allow connectivity for steering wheel, then please send it to me or if you feel like manufacturing it i can buy it from you. Pictures of pin connections will be i ..read more

Hello all, my wife has decided she would like a Nissan Juke. We are on abit of a budget but she has found one for £3,000. The model she has found is the 2012 Tekna 1.5dci puredrive. It has 90k miles on the clock. On doing a vehicle check online it has come up as an insurance write off, category N (non structural damage). Having looked at the car, albeit in the dark, the damage is a scuff to the rear bumper and some minor scratches to the rear roof and near side. The damage looks purely cosmetic and the panel gaps look even all around. The car has had a fresh MOT since the category N classific ..read more

I looked online but cannot seem to find a detail video on how to remove a belt tensioner on a Nissan juke SV it seems like Nissan sells a special tool, to undo the bolt that fastens the tensioner a video I found online has someone drilling out a hole would this be the most effective method without buying specialty tools? submitted by /u/01Cloud01 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Nissan juke original timing chain and mileage

Hello I’m trying to get a feel for how long these timing chains last as I’m contemplating keeping wife’s car and making preventative maintenance repairs vs using it long enough to eventually buy a replacement suv car. Assuming oil changes are done regularly can you drive it well past a 100K miles before it goes completely bad? There seems to be mixed information on whether or not it should be replaced after this mileage. From what I understand Nissan calls it a lifetime part. submitted by /u/01Cloud01 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

CVT fluid exchange

So I recently got a 2014 S that's in great shape. Looks and drives like a brand new car. It does have a slight whine when hot and going up steep inclines but otherwise no slips, RPM fluctuations or weird judders. Functions as intended. The problem I have, that I knew going in, is that the transmission could very well be a time bomb waiting to go off. I have no idea if or when the fluid was last serviced so I decided to go ahead and do it myself. Now, I know that you can drain the 5 quarts in the pan and refill, but there are still 3+ quarts in other areas of the transmission. No big deal righ ..read more
