The New York Yankees season starts in one week as they'll go on the road to face the Houston Astros on March 28.
Starting the year strong is always something the Yankees look to do, and with this being against one of their biggest rivals, it makes the series much more important.
Offensively, New York looks healthy.
Juan Soto, Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, Anthony Volpe, and others are ready to go. DJ LeMahieu is dealing with a small injury, but just one player out is better than what has become the norm for this team.
As long as they're healthy in October, they have a chance to accomplish th ..read more

The New York Yankees already are dealing with the injury bug.
Opening Day isn't even here yet, but the Yankees already have had multiple injury scares. The worst news for the Yankees so far in Spring Training certainly is the fact that the club will be without the services of 2023 American League Cy Young Award winner Gerrit Cole for at least one or two months.
He isn't the only All-Star who has been dealing with injuries, though. Superstar slugger Aaron Judge has dealt with an abdominal injury but has returned to the field and seems to be in a good spot.

Another rumored New York Yankees free agent target reportedly is off the board.
New York has a large hole in the starting rotation right now with 2023 American League Cy Young Award winner Gerrit Cole set to miss at least one or two months due to an elbow injury.
The Yankees were heavily linked to fellow superstar Blake Snell as a possible option to help fix the rotation but he recently signed with the San Francisco Giants.
New York has been mentioned as a possible landing spot for a handful of other players recently with 2023 All-Star Michael Lorenzen being one of the most talked about option ..read more

As the New York Yankees prepare for the beginning of the 2024 season, they are still looking to improve the pitching staff.
The Bronx Bombers already missed out on signing two-time Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell, who went to the San Francisco Giants on a two-year, $62 million deal with an opt-out after the first year. However, there is another option out there for the Yankees - one they know well.
Jon Heyman of the New York Post revealed that the Yankees have re-entered negotiations with free agent left-hander Jordan Montgomery. There is a gap between what each side wants, but talks have be ..read more

Giancarlo Stanton is eager for the 2024 season to start.
After enduring a brutal 2023 season, the New York Yankees' designated hitter/outfielder made adjustments to his muscular build and to his swing in hopes of improving in 2024. Although he struggled to begin the spring, Stanton began seeing results over the past week, with multi-hit games on March 13 and March 16; he hit his first home run of the spring in the latter game.
But during Wednesday's spring training game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, it took Stanton just four innings to do something he had yet to accomplish in a regular seaso ..read more

The New York Yankees could have some stiff competition for one of the top remaining free-agent pitchers.
New York seemingly has been linked to every pitcher that might be available since losing ace Gerrit Cole for at least one or two months due to an elbow injury.
The Yankees have a massive payroll and likely won't pay up for someone like Jordan Montgomery because the club would be hit with a massive tax bill. There are cheaper options out there that could help, though.
One of the most prominent players who keep on being brought up with the Yankees is 2023 All-Star Michael Lorenzen ..read more

The New York Yankees may have one of their most important players available after all.
DJ LeMahieu, who is currently the starting third baseman, was previously given a grim report from Yankee manager Aaron Boone on Monday; the latter said the former sustained a "pretty significant" bone bruise to his right foot in a game on Saturday. Although Boone said the expectation was "reasonable", he wasn't certain if the 35-year-old infielder would be ready to play on Opening Day.
However, LeMahieu likes his chances of being ready by then.
"I've had a good spring training. I've had plenty of at-bats. I ..read more

New York Yankees fans can breathe out a sigh of relief.
Opening Day is right around the corner but the Yankees already are beat up and dealing with a plethora of injuries. New York will be without the services of 2023 American League Cy Young Award winner Gerrit Cole for at least one or two months.
Cole isn't the only important Yankees player who has been dealing with an injury. There was a scare that 2022 American League Most Valuable Player Aaron Judge could miss some time, but he is scheduled to return to the Yankees' lineup Tuesday, according to MLB.com's Bryan Hoch.

The New York Yankees have some work to do but are running out of time.
New York will kick off the 2024 in just over one week and yet there is a glaring hole in the starting rotation. The Yankees recently lost 2023 American League Cy Young Award winner Gerrit Cole to an elbow injury and he will be out for at least one or two months.
Since the announcement of Cole's injury, the Yankees have been linked to a handful of hurlers. New York missed out on 2023 National League Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell to the San Francisco Giants because of a high price tag.

Everyone with an interest in the New York Yankees can breathe a sigh of relief following the most recent comments made by manager Aaron Boone about the injury status updates on two of their star players.
Aaron Judge's abdominal injury raised more concern than initially expected when his initial return date was pushed back and he didn't do batting practice on Monday despite it being scheduled.
There was fear that another superstar Yankee could be missing time at the beginning of the season, following the disappointing news about ace Gerrit Cole.
