I'm not familiar with turbo cars so looking at this just worries me why there's so much oil and carbon build up on the charge pipe. I'm sure some carbon buildup is okay but its so black down there. And i dont have much knowledge on this kind of stuff so anything helps ..read more

I just picked up a 2011 Jetta SE with convenience package. So this means full manual leatherette seats but also heated. I am interested in swapping in a full set of Mk6 GLI leather seats that would be partial power and heated. Now I understand that the connectors on the car would need to be spliced in from the GLI and that alot of people attempting swaps like this run into airbag light issues if the airbag module is not coded to the new seats. I have access to VAG COM. Does anyone have a DIY...

I'm new to the dsg transmission. I have a 14 jetta tdi. I noticed trans slipping. Found that the cooler failed and leaked in trans fluid. Flushed it a couple times to remove bad fluid. Trans is still slipping. I'm wondering if it is shot,or is it just the clutch pack. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Where I am located no one wants to work on it ..read more

so I picked up a bunch of leds for the car, and figured id try some hids, the stock halogens are just not great.
grabbed these -->http://deautokey.com/product/new-h7...-35w-slim-digital-ballast-with-canbus-adapter
So they're in, looking great. The drivers side took a bit longer to pop on, but then I noticed when my highbeams turned OFF, I lost my drivers side HID for a moment. I wont be using the highbeams because of the HIDS, but I was just checking...

I recently changed the rear pads and rotors on my 2014 GLI, which I have done before without issue. This time around I did something to drastically soften the pedal feel. Pretty sure I trapped air in the lines. Here's a list of events:
1. Changed drivers side pads and rotor.
2. Started engine and pumped the pedal several times (Pretty sure this is where I went wrong as I typically do not turn on the engine at this point. Just had a bad day and was not focused)
3. Changed rear pads and rotor...

Looking to buy an exhaust when tax time rolls around. I know the exhaust hangers between MK6 Jettas and GLIs are similar (if not the same). Im really interested in getting the Borla exhaust for the GLI to put on my SE but not 100% sure if they will match up. If anyone has any experience with putting a "GLI" exhaust system on a non-GLI the help would be appreciated ..read more

I recently replaced the headlights on my Jetta and when I was talking it apart I noticed some corrosion. I knew the part that connected the light bulb to the wires was corroded but I didn't know the harness and connectors would be. I tried my best to clean it with salt and vinegar. Followed by a clean with alcohol. It looked good until I installed the new parts and tuend it on and now the light doesn't turn on. When it was corroded they worked, when I replaced some of the corroded wiring it...

As the title states, I am occasionally having some chatter (rattle) when the engine is cold. Only seems to happen when the ambient temp is below 32 degrees outside. I have only noticed this 2-4 times and goes away entirely after driving for a few minutes or when the engine is warm. It is a 5 speed and I have been driving stick for close to 15 years. The car is only 3 months old and only has 4600 miles on it. I drive like a granny and can count maybe 4 times that the car has been over 4k...
